QANTAS's domestic sale(s)

Both Qantas and Virgin have a Summer sale right now.

Qantas SYD-BNE for 12 Jan - 22 Mar is $99 and Virgin SYD-BNE for the same time period is $95! :shock: I have never seen the airfares that close? Does Virgin seriously think they are that competitive against Qantas?

Qantas SYD-BNE for Oct-Dec is $119 and Virgin SYD-BNE for the same time period is $115! :shock:

I'll take the Qantas airfares thanks....

MEL-OOL $119 direct for 12 Jan - 22 Mar. Ok only 1 flight there and back by QF but why would I fly with the deathstar for more?

This route comes on special quite regularly. There was a sale that just finished recently and one would expect a sale to start again soon before Christmas through to New Year.

What dates were you after? There's a sale on at the moment for $109 between 27 Jan-22 Mar and $95 between 01 May-23 Jun.

There is a sale for the end of Feb from $129 for the next 3 days. Not the greatest deal but I can't imagine it will get much better only a month out.

While looking at flights for SYD-BNE in May I found that the majority of them were around $79. Making a couple of dummy bookings in the same month I found DRW-BNE for $159 and also DRW-SYD for $160, I can't remember them ever being this cheap on QF! VA seem to be having a flash sale for May flights which ends tonight so if QF are bringing down their prices in response I don't imagine them lasting very long.

I noticed that same scenario too. Didn't think pricing was based on matching Virgin sales (especially if for just one day only). Those prices are still up at just after midnight AEST SO perhaps there's a further sale extended and pricing reduced. Haha. What since fuels that much cheaper and bumper half year profits, maybe giving something back to the customer. melb - Adel $79, Syd -Adel $99.... By morning it's likely to be clear as to if its extended and reduced ...

Booked some BNE-SYD returns for July-August last night. July were $89 and August were $79.

The extended holiday period June - July with no discounts is a big worry.

The BNE-DRW flights are gone but I'm still seeing availability SYD-DRW at $160. The $79 SYD-BNE flights are still there too.

SYD-DRW has availability on a few dates in May (the 20th and 22nd for example) while SYD-BNE has availability through May and about halfway through June by the looks of it.

Took advantage of the extra discount and booked myself a SYD-MEL-LST rtn SC run in May for $158 yesterday. This nets 40SCs which is quite good value.

On realising the sale is still going, I booked a SYD-MEL trip in May for $158.

Yes, that's $79 each way .....I checked just now for May and July
