yeah.. weird that.. I only noticed as I saw them on the QF frontpage... Smiling: $69 fare + QP access... Bargain (unless something gets in the way between now and then..)

Funnily enough you can fly Jetstar from MEL to OOL VV and SYD to OOL VV for a little less on roughly the same dates, in a sale ending the same time as this one.

Almost as if QF and JQ are pitting BNE against OOL.

Sale airfares and availability look good and just about the time I was hoping the sale would be on.

Yes... nice sale.. if not a bit annoying (booked sale one way and normal the other way (aug 28-sep1) on the last sale... would have been cheaper now!)

Hmm.. a weekend to Hobart is looking like fun..

Yeah John,

Come down to MEL one weekend rather than SYD for a round of Golf. :p

Maybe I am missing something.

The fares don't look all that remarkable to me.

You want a full service carrier to provide better airfares than $69 SYD-MEL and $75 SYD-BNE?

You are better off sticking with JQ, DJ, TT and UA....

PER-ADL $129 has been like that for over a week now, so not related to the new 'sale'.

Everything else for PER is not on special, just regular prices.

Funny about that ... It is an "East Coast Sale"!

Maybe, but then ADL-PER has randomly been $129 on and off for the last month.

I also don't remember seeing ADL-SYD or CBR prices mentioned in the last week. How east coast is ADL anyway?

Result being that the cheapest way to get between PER and MEL is often to go via ADL. Looking in August, I can find MEL-ADL-PER at $183 some days, while the MEL-PER flights are $214

It's probably because Tiger has some good fares on these routes at the moment.

CBR-ADL $48, ADL-PER $68, SYD-ADL $68.

Just booked CBR-ADL-PER on TT. Hard to beat.

Sounds decent, but looks like they stop flying PER-ADL after the 3rd Oct.

Interesting. QF seems to be launching these fares again in relation to this weeks Tiger sale...

MEL-SYD $69
MEL-BNE $105
MEL-ASP $129
MEL-PER $189
ADL-SYD $95
ADL-ASP $109
ADL-PER $129

Travel: 1st Aug-17th Sep

Ends 18th June.

Perhaps this is a signal to Tiger of "Game on", all the better for us.
DJ have also "coincidentally" been matching off against TT flights on SYDMEL at Under$50 for a while .Incumbents not going to give too much ground by the look, nor should they.I'm sure they're both very aware of their Compliance requirements from a competition perspective;)
