But I have noticed that some past sales this year have been extended by a up to a week when re-released after the initial go. I haave at least got one set of flights for the family on the thursday before school hols started that way.

Beware schools hols have moved a bit this year
eg I'm pretty sure Vic hols (if anyone can escape the swine flu) start earlier than normal in Sep that woud be the reason they cut off ,also Jul hols vary different to last year.these changes wouldall impact on any sale dates offered

Vic hols explain the 17 Sept cut off.

SA 26 Sept to 9 Oct ( or there abouts)

School Holidays are pretty much always not sale periods.

If sales are not doing well they do discount during school holidays but you need to be prepared to purchase the airfare with very little notice.

Finally... Mainline and Qlink sales that run for the same period! I don't think there has been one like this since the big sale at the beginning of the year when they dropped the fuel surcharge.

My years all booked up... and the Amex bill is gonna hurt!

Good call. Qantas flights ex - Perth are on sale again and this time it includes that weekend woohoo.

Not as good as a few months ago but with 12 month's validity it's good if you know where you're going to be down the track.

I'd love to be able to buy some open-dated tickets at these prices!

I have some dates in mind for 2010 but not flights that are really cheap.

I had this idea to buy some tickets for some flights next year 11 months away and see how many changes of schedule I get.
