I have recently purchased a business class lite fare with Qatar which ordinarily wouldn’t permit access to the Al Mourjan lounge in Doha. However I’m a One World Emerald member so does anyone know if I can still get access to the lounge with this status, or have Qatar airways blocked all FFs unless you have a higher fare level or pay for lounge access?

I'm in a similar position and assumed that as Emeralds dont get access to Al Mourjan by reason of status alone, that the lite fare is out as well. There is another lounge they provide for Emerald members flying in Y, and effectively, Business Lite.

OT but I was looking at QR fares the other day and the Business Lite category was more expensive than the next category up which included lounge access 🙄

The sale finishes today I believe

I too thought that status didn't get you in but currently the separate lounges for Y OWS & OWS are closed so can access the Al Mourjan
I was also informed on another thread that if QR Plat flying J you can access the Al-Safwa but not sure if this is permanent.
Personally disappointed as only went to the Al Moujan(which is still a very good lounge)last month. I didn't have my QR Plat number on my boarding pass so may have been correctly directed if I had.

Yes, I saw an another anomaly where the next level up the same issue occurred.

Guess that explains why there have been complaints that Al M has been so busy. Not travelling until May so hopefully back to normal by then. Phew, just checked and Ramadan is early April.

Confirming that the Al Mourjan lounge is still accepting Oneworld Emerald flyers on any fare. However apparently another lounge is now open for Gold/Sapphire travellers. They were quick to clarify if I had Emerald when I asked if I was allowed to visit Al Mourjan.

(Writing this from Al Mourjan , travelling as Qantas WP on economy classic fare.)

Apparently it's hectic there because of this.

Today from about 4:30 am until now (6am local), I would call it quite busy but not hectic. There are still plenty of seats but finding two together would be tricky. People are being polite and quiet and plenty managing to get a sleep.

We will be there for around two hours at around 6am. We don't usually bother with grabbing a meal but just a drink and snack. Hopefully we can grab two seats together. It's been deserted in the past, pre Covid.

There's a big push of flights overnight, after 8am it has been deserted. I'm finally about to leave now (1pm local).

I purchased D Class fare and the Qatar Airways app is telling me I can access the Al Safwa First Class lounge. I thought they used to charge people for that!

QRs own WPs are allowed in also. Did you get the status match or using QF/OWE?

As in this?
Al Safwa First Lounge is available to Qatar Airways and oneworld First Class ticketed customers. Guests are not permitted. In addition to First Class passengers, Privilege Club Platinum members can now access Al Safwa First Class Lounge with two eligible guests, when travelling on full fare Qatar Airways Business class and departing from Doha. Al Safwa First Lounge paid access is available based on ticket eligibility.

It seems like you need to be on a business fare to access that lounge.

I’m one world emerald and wondering which lounge I will be able to access in Doha

Doha used to also have separated Oneworld Emerald and Sapphire lounges which are nowhere near as nice and much smaller.

Through I've seen some posts on FT that these were closed over Covid and people were being directed to the QR lounges.

Which class are you travelling in? OWE in whY normally gets the sub-standard “1st Lounge” (but as above, that is currently closed so you should at least get the Al Mourjan lounge (normally reserved for J class PAX).
