6pm to 8pm and not crowded at all

We were in Al Mourjan earlier this month off QR909, so early morning. On arrival after 5am it was busy, but not so bad that we couldn't get 2 seats together. But it quickly got super-busy and people were circulating the room looking for somewhere to sit and the queue for showers was so long we didn't get one within our ~2 hour stay.

Hmmm, this is more like what I have been hearing - super busy in the bank of flight times. Thanks for the data point.

There are (or were, BC) two sets of showers, if you weren't aware. One lot on the side of the main hall opposite entry, and the other on the RH side at the end, through the restaurant on the main level. Took me a couple of visits to find the latter!

Yeah, have used the faraway ones on previous visits but could not find the entrance this time ... although I admit to not trying particularly hard, being distracted by just how uncomfortably busy it was to even walk around the place.

To clarify that’s the downstairs buffet / bar area to your far left on entering the lounge. Once inside there, walk pass the bar and turn right. Showers and sleeping pods down the corridor.

Good clarification; I was of course meaning the RH side of the restaurant (buffet) on the far left ... :)

I think I managed to find them on my very first visit having been turned away from the “main“ showers.

What is it with the ME hubs and limited showers? The EY J lounge in AUH was horrendous, the F Lounge was better (with a buzzer system). Even the DXB EK F lounge at the A gates seems to only have a couple showers…? I’ve not had the pleasure to visit the Al Safwa lounge yet - hopefully they’re better?

Very good in Al Safwa. 5 minute wait in May. Had to go through an empty spa room to reach mine

Yes, and that's about all that was on offer during our recent visit other than a few underwhelming bits and bobs. Def not a buffet.
PC it was a self serve buffet for those who didn’t want to go upstairs to the restaurant. TBH, I can’t remember what they had on offer there, I was rarely hungry during transits! More interested in the bar on the side! 🤣
