The plating and presentation looks absolutely sublime in those photos.
Anyone done ADL-AKL or AKL-ADL recently with some pics?

DOH-MEL, dep 20:50 local, J

As I had eaten in the Al Safwa lounge, I didn’t need the offered dinner after departure. About halfway through the 13 hour flight, I got peckish so asked for the World Cup Half Time platter ( WC is streamed live on QR flights).

and later I had the FIFA chocolate football (so go ahead, judge me 😊)

I mean, seriously, where do you get food plated like this in business class, in fact even in first class, on other airlines? Very few, I think.

Oh, and as @Princess Fiona wrote above, absolutely zero calories at altitude. 😎

Does Qatar still have their “warm savory pastries“ as a snack item? I used to love them pre covid when peckish between meals. Just booked ourselves QR J BNE DOH ATH for Jan next year.

QR914 ADL-AKL 1835 departure
Flight of just under 4hrs but service was amazing and both quantity and quality of food was simply stunning.
Warm nuts and some bubbly followed by a bread basket consisting of 3 varieties of warm rolls accompanied by butter, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. I skipped the soup and went straight to the Arabic mezze which was absolutely superb.
Beef for mains and it’s was cooked to perfection and accompanied with a delightful radish and thyme jus that had some great flavour. Finished with a banana and toffee pudding with fresh raspberries which was also superb. Taste and presentation of the food was top notch and staff were attentive and friendly. A couple of excellent Spanish Sauvignon Blanc’s along the way and about 30 minutes from descent we were given a small box of chocolates and asked if we required a refill or would like to order a tea of coffee. Gets a 10/10 in all areas

On the same flight a week before @jase05 I had the same menu, except I took the prawns appetiser and had the red chicken curry on the flight attendant's recommendation. The chicken curry and the banana toffee pudding were excellent. And I had a very nice old-fashioned with the dessert.

I did however attempt to preorder several times over the preceding two weeks, but the preorder would "submit" but never stick. None of the preorder items were on the live menu on the flight.

On the way back there was a dessert on the menu but I was not offered it, for some reason. I don't know if I was in the restroom when they came for my order or what.

Something I just noticed, and it was the same for my flight - the dark plate for desert. Made the presentation of your desert that much better than the standard airline white plate. Just one of the small attentions to detail that I love on QR.

Yes, our meal selections didn’t stick despite multiple attempts beforehand.
The menu onboard was completely different to the one you could preorder so perhaps there is a glitch somewhere.

Yeah, I flew QR on a single business trip MEL-xDOH-LHR vv back in 2015. Obvs they didn't have QSuites then, and the 6-across 77W config MEL-DOH-MEL was not very comfortable, but the 388 DOH-LHR-DOH had very good reverse-herringbone seats and the lovely bar/lounge.

And I remember back then, the food was consistently excellent and the presentation was lovely, and that is still case.

Dinner on PER-DOH last night (J)

I've flown numerous J products over the years and I'm finally giving QR a go now that they've buttoned up their partnership with VA. Probably the best J products I've experienced, felt more like a First lite than a Business plus. Looking forward to my first F sector with them out of DOH next month.
