Does anyone know why QF7 was cancelled today?
There have been a lot of delays and a few cancellations with QF7 recently so wondering if it was just mechanical ,
I realize that due to the refurbishments there are no spare aircraft if there are problems
I have to take QF7 late this week,,,,,and due to the Thanksgiving Holiday AA has cancelled a lot of flights at the end of the week---so there are few options if there is a significant delay or cancellation---especially as I am flying to a non hub city.

The US is expecting bad travel weather in the Midwest and North East through the latter half of the week, covering the holiday.

I heard ..and AA likes to cancel flights on account of weather but it ends up being just fine----has happened to me on a few occasions lately.
Hopefully all will be OK as have a 5 hour lay over in DFW so room to get on a flight somewhere ....and luckily QF gives us access to the AA Flagship Lounge .

Sorry---was interrupted whilst starting a reply
DFW is a problem if there is even a hint of snow/ice rain......whilst in the spring---the storms cause numerous diversions and ground stops.---
ORD is even worse despite having all the snow equipment and numerous deicing vehicles.---and they should be used to the snow.---have been stranded there countless times......

Yes, weather. Nothing that the passenger can do. Just a fact of life with air travel in the USA, especially, as others have said, in DFW and ORD.

I'm in SLC at the moment. It snowed here yesterday. The snow storm that pass through UT yesterday is heading towards New England.
It's clear today (though -1C) Flying out tomorrow morning, heading west. AA says my flight is fine (so far), but it is meant to snow again tomorrow (after my flight is meant to depart).

That was a lucky move.
i am on it later in the week ....and connecting to Des Moines so not many alternative flights if things go wrong

Also ended up with the refurbed bird. Not much difference in First except it is bright, clean, the seat a little more comfortable and the TV a little bigger. Also the inflight entertainment has been standardised to that on the A330’s and 789. The area upstairs though is fantastic and usable. A couple of photos. The self serve section was empty which I found a bit strange. 584D54CD-20EE-4972-B540-1F9DBCDABAA4.jpeg97898DB4-63EC-4272-82B1-1BD570B405F8.jpeg

Incidentally, Gary Leff at View From the Wing says DFW refers to Doesn't Function Wet.
Staff at the airport call it the Damn Freakin World Airport - however Doesn't Function Wet would seem to be much better - and it is even worse when it snows there.

Stop it. Now I want to go back. Unfortunately not until mid-2020. 😀
