VHOQB as QF6024 just passed overhead on the way into SYD from AUH 5/8/22. So does that add one more to the working collection?
4 now?

From FR24 activity as at now:
OQA nil info
B in SYD as mentioned above
C nil info
D arrived in LHR as QF1
E 😢
F 😢
G in AUH (arrived on 29 Jul)
H arrived in SIN as QF2
I nil info
J enr LAX as QF11
K enr SIN as QF1
L nil info

So that would be 4 flying scheduled services; 1 soon to be flying; and one in whatever maintenance is being done in AUH; and 4 still somewhere else.
And two being junked…

Have just booked syd - lax economy seats, Jan 6th return Jan 26th 2023. It will be our first international trip in 4 years !! In the past we have had row 32 ( I think that’s what it was…. So long again). Being the first row of economy on the upper deck. Is that seating configuration still possible or are all planes refurbished now. Thanks for your replies

Now that I know the economy upper deck seating is no longer…. Does anyone have any seating recommendations for 3 people. I have booked row 50 ABC, but now see a few poor reviews that it is close to the gallley

Does anyone know how many A380s QF current have on rotation as based on the post above on I would have thought 6, but can only seem to account for 4 frames?

4 are in the current rotation as of today (OQB, OQD, OQH & OQK)
OQJ has been in the hangar at Sydney since 29 August, presumably for a wing spar check.
OQA has been moved from the desert to LAX for pre-entry preparations, which will take some to complete and will probsably involve a move to Abu Dhabi at some stage.
The other 4 (OQC, OQG, OQL, & OQI) are still in storage. I believe OQC is in Abu Dhabi and has been there for over 1 year.

That would make sense. Seems like QF11/12 is getting a few more 787s than it should be.

Yes, QF11/12 is missing out on the A380 most days at the moment. QF need 3 A380's to do a daily LHR service and generally like to have 1 spare in SYD. But with only 4 A380's currently in service the 1 spare is all they have to do LAX.

Thanks for the information. So the post above stating OQG is in AUH from 29 July isn't correct then?

Interesting information re the A380’s availability. I have booked QF 11 in Jan and it is sold as A380 and have booked seats as per A380 seat map. However, my sister works for Qantas and she tells me that according to the staff site, it is showing as a 787 and has limited seats left ……
