QF A380 coming off MEL/LAX

Could also be supply v demand. Fares to LAX from Melbourne in that period are significantly lower than from Brisbane for example. With United on the route and QF also flying to DFW the demand for the A380 may not be there.

That kind of answers my question about planning trips around certain planes! All the planning we put into often our ‘once in a lifetime’ trips can all be undone because Q can’t read the room

Apologies if this the wrong thread for this topic.

Just got off the A380 First class cabin.

Really tired and decrepit. They've basically just re-upholstered the seats. If I'd actually paid for a seat I'd be livid :)

Better off in J, at least the audio visual systems has a touch screen instead of the dial-up version in F

F has a better ratio of toilets and FA to pax and you do get more space. Yes it would have been nice if QF had done more, but if I book J on the A380 I will still put in an upgrade request to fly F again. If I can get F classic reward seats but not J I would still take them.

I would reckon in J the 787 would probably be a better prospect than the 380...

...but the big one for mine is the far better reliability of the 787 fleet right now. QF has what five 380's currently running around, and as I type a bunch of services are chronically delayed due to ongoing issues (-OQK coming out of maintenance at LAX seemed to be a bit of a fail and will take time to catch up on a 17ish hour delay out of LAX, for example)...

I'd feel more confident being booked on a 787 service to/from LAX due to more shells in the system and better reliability (in general) vs the 380 which... are iffy tbh (and I've got 380's to/from LAX in a few weeks so I promise I'm watching this space with some really personal investment in the situation ! :D )

While we can't and don't monitor every arrival, and don't compile international flights' percentage readings for 'arriving within 15 minutes of the timetable', neither QFi aircraft type has been particularly punctual in recent weeks.

Perhaps you ought cast an occasional eye over the cancellations/delays threads?

A far worse performance than most competitors, and symptomatic of the decline of this airline, "led" by a failure of a CEO.
