Good luck on the RTW concept. It is actually extremely difficult to make most desired routes work. But if you spend the gazzilion hours, it can be OK.

At the end of the day the QF redemptions stink. Availability/¨fees¨/ease of use of system, all suck. People on AFF here struggle. I cant imagine how disheartening/imposible it is for Mr Average.

I have been lucky for our upcoming trip:
Booked 353 days ahead.

Mid December: SYD-LAX 2P and 1U QF 11
Mid January: LAX-SYD 1P QF12, LAX-MEL-SYD 2P-2U QF 94 then QF Dom.

ALl seats are on same dates .

2 years ago i managed 4U SYD-LAX return again during summer school holidays

P= first class award
U=business class award

Can be done (status SG at time of booking)

But having Mr/Mrs Average think it is all too hard and thus give up is probably a good thing for the few of us that can to varying degrees get around the system
