QF Club vs QF J Lounge @ SYD - What's the difference?

That's just a Caramello! Readily available in regular and Koala formats, for your bingeing enjoyment.

Cheers,
Matt.
Having had a Caramello, I can almost certainly say that's not a Caramilk. Yes it's got the same ingredients and general format, but the execution is off! I would encourage you to try a Canadian Caramilk (arguably the only true Caramilk) and tell me with a straight face if it's the same as a Caramello.

albeit it would've been nice to have Caramilk, then again that's only sold in Canada)

Australian Caramilk isn't Caramilk and frankly is disgusting. It's like this white chocolate thing. Proper Caramilk is milk chocolate with a nice thick caramel filling that provides both a sweet and savoury tasting experience:

This is Caramilk according to Cabury. If you dispute that, take it up with them  But, between us, I'll be believing them ... Sort of falls into the category of whether there are pubs and cafes landside at Hobart Airport 😂 Cadbury Caramilk chocolate block 180g

No poutine is a bonus point, in my books!
Depending on kf88's preferences these could be fighting words eh! Canadians(most of them anyway!) are very previous about Poutine. a bit like us and.. vegemite?! lol

so trying desperately to keep this thread remotely close to on topic... SYD J lounge reno to include a dance floor/boxing ring?! Right by the new inspired food offering to beat out the spice bar, the Cantina (RIP) and the pizza oven (when not on fire)... the Maple Leaf - serving Poutine, Montreal Bagels and Saskatoon berry pie (what a fun little of nowhere city that is :D ).... and signature drink modeled over that sourtoe coughtail from Dawson City(not creek), Yukon......

:D

ET's latest article from Jan 5 on the lounge roadmap suggests SYD (dom J and int J) will not get to till 2025 probably due to the (obvious) multi-million dollar investment required (and logistics I'd dare say).

So now the question remains: which lounge will get a renovation first, Sydney domestic or Hobart domestic? Place your votes:

I almost fell off my chair last night when they came around with a plate of the day in the SYD J lounge.

It was a chicken burger. While it was cold (not sure if this is intentional or not), it was very much appreciated and enjoyed. It was genuinely good and marks the first real improvement I've seen in lounge catering in at least 5 years. Well done.

I’ve seen this sort of thing from time to time.

Most recently about three months ago when small plates of Eggs Benedict were offered towards the end of the breakfast service time. These were also cold.

The cynic in me wondered whether they were a clearance line from the CL.

I also was offered a benny in early March - bread and ham and hollandaise were ice cold but the egg was hot.

Oh dear, this must rank as a first world problem! No matter what the quality of QF Club vs QF J Lounge @ SYD any lounge is OK by me, just because of general ambience. I do not recollect every being in the QF Club so can't comment but would agree that MEL, PER and BNE J lounges are better than the Club.
If you think HBA is bad then you must try MKY and have experienced the ROK cupboard.

The MEL lounge has windows looking on the departure hall and I have had chips in the QF Club in MEL and BNE but not in J. Sometimes the Pub has beetroot but not in J. The cantina idea is gone but they do serve special dishes. If you are early the stews do have meat in them, but be quick!

As a previous correspondent said, if you don't like the lounge, don't go. Lounges vary greatly. Australian ones have a base product and the J lounges enhance that with a different (better) food and drink offering.
For my part I will take any Iounge I can get.
