Received this in the latest Business Newsletter from Qantas Airways:

[TD="align: left"] Qantas partner British Airways has a program that allows small to medium businesses to earn corporate loyalty points when travelling on selected British Airways and Qantas marketed services.

Free to join, members can earn “On Business” points for tickets with a British Airways flight number between Australia and the UK, Singapore, and Bangkok. Points can then be redeemed for a range of rewards including flights*, upgrades and hotel accommodation and the first six flights booked as a program member will also earn triple points!

Find out more at ba.com/onbusiness.

* Must be BA operated and marketed.

They're not even guiding their own internal marketing towards taking QFi flights (highlighted in red).

I know it seems like a bit of a PR "phail" but you must remember that your AFF profile shows you as located in the UK so it isn't so surprising that the marketing push was more towards BA rather than QF, maybe the business letters are customized to the receipients physical location? I am just guessing but maybe QF and BA think that you are a UK resident? Anyone in Australia received this?

I received the same spiel and my address is listed as the Gold Coast.

That said, Qantas doesn’t fly here either :p

Answered in record time, thanks. Maybe confirmed marketing fail after all...

Actually, this is the newsletter that my Australian business receives.

I read it as a potential solution for European and onward travel when QFi runs out of options. They’re promoting a partner instead of leaving the choice up to you for anyone… I know it specifically mentions between Australia and the UK, but I think this fits in with the QFi services terminating in Asia and connecting to the UK on BA, making sure their business customers get rewarded appropriately.

And as for the BA operated and marketed point, that is specifically pointing at award flights after earning points through the program advertised.
