QF probably care about churning too many customers... but QF's business intelligence is not very intelligent at all.... all outsourced to terrible placesMaybe QF doesn’t care? Or maybe the ‘business intelligence’ is just not quite intelligent enough?
Yeah but I stopped flying them - so they didn't get the money.Wouldn't one consideration be that QF gained your business for you to accrue the 1200 SC by throwing you a few toasted sandwiches and glasses of champagne all while you are paying more for the privilege that you would on VA. The money is made on the flights you take, not the potential
I think they meant overcrowding in the lounges. The fact that it is easier to get WP means that there are more WP members than "normal".Do DSCs really cause over crowding? I would have thought sale fares and double points offers are more likely to create crowds.
Husband gets offers and then he tries to work them around points reward seats I have . We have done that twice nowAn issue with the targeted offers are that they only apply to one person where my wife and I always fly together so one of us would miss out. You have to look at the fine print on some of these offers as they can be limited especially with the class of travel you may select

I certainly have noticed how crowded the QF Dom J lounges have become. They used to be fairly "exclusive" but they are soooooo crowded now. Plus a WP can have 2 guests.... so every person that becomes WP as a result of DSC is really potentially an extra 3 in the lounge, right?
But.... what I have noticed is that the QF F lounges are not very crowded at all (relatively speaking). Esp in MEL in the morning. When you think that there are flights to LAX, HKG, NRT all leaving around the same time.... the lounge should be much busier with OW Emerald peeps... but it isn't. I was recently flying to NRT, and on board in the J cabin I did not see a SINGLE person from the F lounge - and there were so few people in the lounge I would have remembered. When the flight boarded I was the only one that I noticed leaving the lounge.
It makes me wonder.... I wonder how many staff "mates" get snuck into the Dom J lounges? They do seem waaaayyyyyy too crowded. I know that it is harder to sneak someone into the F lounge - your name needs to be on a guest list, and that list is managed quite tightly...
Qantas are more than happy to sell membership to any punter (without status)

Pardon my ignorance, I thought that QF only sold Qantas Club lounge access and not access to its Domestic J lounges?
Sorry - correct.

Not sure I’ve ever seen this happening, access to any of the QF lounges seems quite closely guarded plus as I understand it QF staff on industry fares are strictly prohibited from lounge access.
