QF Double Status Credits (SC) offer for all :)

Hi All
Have trawled my way through this entire thread, and these posts are the only ones which "sort of" address my question...
Firstly, I can happily report that I have successfully had all my DSC points from this promo posted within a couple of days of travel, including on changed flights - just an FYI!

I have a (Y- flexible) multi-sector international flight scheduled for tomorrow, which I have to either change or cancel as I have an emergency and cannot travel. Rescheduling is not an option.
As it's Y-flex I can cancel for a refund or voucher
Ideally, I would like to cancel and create a voucher, to use before 16 April 2017 - only if I can retain the PNR and get credit for the DSC offer (I will most likely use this voucher for a different destination)
Does anyone have experience of this exact scenario being successful?
Many thanks in advance
:-)

This seems to cause a few issues internally when offers get applied to credit vouchers. I cancelled a flight to HKG in January booked during the DSC offer. I opted for a credit voucher and then wanted the recent 50% bonus SC offer applied to the bookings under the voucher. It slipped my mind to even ask if the DSC offer could apply to these flights. In the end, I got a few different responses but ultimately I emailed the Qantas team who said to contact them after my flying had been done so they could ensure SCs got credited correctly (e.g. 50% bonus) and that they would honour the offer.

As such, I would be very interested in the outcome of this as my SC earn could increase by 25%.

Let us know what the P1 team advises.

I think you retain your booking info for the current booking and date as being valid for the DSC info. If you cancel and a new voucher is created, it's creation date and stuff will be new(but it will retain the original expiry date of the booking). If you retain all the info and contact QFF afterwards assuming your new flights fall in the window as you want to, then they should manually process it I think. The only other way I could think is to change the flights to a date in April and figure it out later, so the current PNR doesn't change but if you intend to use the value for new flight(s) on different routes, that could cause some issues with QF potentially. If you could see yourself flying the same routes at a later date that would go much easier I think.

Either way I hope the emergency is not too dire and things there resolve in a positive way!

This DSC offer from April 2016 is fantastic.

I have some more flights coming up soon.

Hi everyone
I wanted to give an update, and perhaps even see if anyone has further experience with this, and may be able to offer advice or assistance.

Way back in November I created a credit voucher with the same PNR, and was given an assurance by the FF team member that as long as I retained the PNR and kept within the promotion date, I would be eligible for the offer.
Yesterday I used the voucher, plus spent another $500 and rebooked within the allowable period (until 16 April 2017). The PNR remains the same as my original booking made on 4 May 2016.

Because it was after hours, I was unable to speak with the FF team, and did the entire thing through Reservations. I called the FF team today to see what the situation was since I added some value to the booking. I was advised by FF that in "cancelling" and creating a voucher, even though the original booking date and PNR remain, I will no longer be eligible for the promotion.
I'm pretty annoyed, as I have another booking which I also had to put into credit, with bookings totalling over $5000 which I've been holding in credit to rebook.

I can see a notation in the Ts&Cs "If you change or cancel your initial qualifying booking and/or travel is completed outside the promotional period, this bonus offer will not apply."
HOWEVER, I have had other bookings made within this offer period for this same offer that I have changed dates for and still been credited the bonus points.

Can anyone offer any help or insight...or advice?
Obviously if I'd been told I this back in November, I would have cancelled for a full refund (Y-flex ticket) and not left Qantas holding all my money for all this time!!!

Thanks everyone

I didn't get the DSC on the second issue of a gift voucher either.

I would have thought it should still have worked provided it is the same PNR, not a different one, whether or not that's what QANTAS intended.

So you're saying you have the same PNR and got no DSC?

Does succesful upgrade request cancel DSC for that sector?
The SC would be based on the fare class you originally booked and likewise the DSC. I don't think it would cancel DSC but you wouldn't get any more SCs from getting the upgrade vs not getting the upgrade either.

Some of these promotions are processed manually and they are strict with the terms and conditions of no changes.

You can't know what will happen until you fly.
The quoted T&C doesn't prevent Double status credits in your situation. There are 2 conditions in that, well actually 4 but the important bit is 2 options. Change or cancel flight and travel outside promotion period. The other option or travel outside promotion period. You're travelling inside the promotion period.

I don't think Sukina is talking about a gift voucher.

Can't wait for these promo flights to cease so the thread can move on to 'new' DSC offers for 2017!!!

(yes I am dirty I couldn't make use of the original offer and keep getting reminded each time I view this thread )

Upgrades will not affect a DSC booking.

re credit vouchers - interesting - every single credit voucher I've received has been created as a new PNR so it's an interesting situation to have a credit issued as an existing PNR (which would be a modification to the original PNR really).

regarding the DSC offer conditions - when QF wrote "changes or cancellation" to booking, I am pretty sure they meant changes resulting in creation of a new booking - eg a reissue for some reason like changed routings or something. A change in date or time of flights wouldn't do this. Obviously a cancel will nuke the original booking.

As for a 2017 promo *IF* there's one (a bloody big if) then it will get it's own thread (or probably 50 :) ) I'm certain.

and on a personal note am flying my final DSC flights tomorrow and I'm done.

Whilst I hope QANTAS does another DSC offer this year that is no certainty. Historically they haven't done a global DSC offer every year.

My final DSC flights for this promo are next month. My next DSC flight is coming up much sooner than that.

Waiting patiently. Sick and tired paying a premium for my Platinum status.

Not exactly the same but similar. I had to split the original DSC booking into two (the second passenger wasn't travelling) and to cancel one ticket. The agent cancelled the old PNR, and created a new PNR for mine, although I specifically asked for the old PNR to retain. I called the FF team and they listened to the tape (or maybe just looked into what happened) and confirmed that my new PNR would still be eligible but they would have to do a manual processing (they made an internal note on my account or PNR, not sure).

Upon completion of travel, as expected, DSC didn't post so I called and they investigated, but had to wait until the obligatory 12 weeks waiting period. The FF team supervisor was really through, and assured me that she would put a reminder in her calendar to check my account after that period lapses. Shortly after 12 weeks since the flight the bonus SCs were credited, so despite the sales team initial stuff up I am pretty happy with how QF handled it.

I suggest try calling the FF team and seek to speak to a supervisor.

Got one last booking left using the promo. That booking plus another after the promo ends will get the remaining credits I need to retain WP.

Well I made the beginners error of seeing the "Double Point offer" in January and blew a load of money cancelling a J class SYD -CDG - SYD flight to rebook to get the double "SC" points and only once done booking through Amex (to use the Amex points accrued which give a better rate than transferring to Qantas) did the qantas agent tell me it wasn't double SC's, only double points......aaargh

Regardless I have flights booked now which will put me back to Platinum well before my anniversary but boy, am I looking for a double SC promotion.
Problem is, no one can tell me how they decide who they're going to offer it to!
Totally jealous every time I see someone mention the last of their Double SC flights....
