Also on QF15 (as NB)

2 x J 13 Feb
4 x J 14 Feb
2 x J 15 Feb.

Sure these weren't there a week ago.
Hhmmm.

They weren't. Each day, the next day is realised. Seems as though status holders are getting a month head start. The big question is: are bronze getting what Satus holders don't use in the first month, or is this a separate allocation?

A few days in FEB with 2 or 4 J SYD-SFO now as well

Interesting

A 6 week head start, but a ray of hope for NB's nonetheless.
I don't see any of the 'new' availability on AA (with no status there either), for what its worth...

Cheers

I noted quite good avails for 2x pax on QF15, but even though it makes things more difficult we really would want to be on 93 or 11.

you are preferring the 93/11 for its early arrival or for the cachet of the 380?

Very occasionally these routes can be subbed by a 747

not only is availability less in the popular routes, dates but also certain departure times and aircraft type.

Have you managed to snare some premium seats yet?

I do like the early arrival, and the 380 is a great thing to fly on.

Plus it will be a first time experience of F/J for my travel partner, so I am keen to fly out of MEL/SYD for the great lounge experience etc.

Hi Tahoe, as silver I can see 2xJ available on QF93 on 14 and 15 Feb - is that too late for you?

I can see those as Bronze - cool.

Plenty of single seat avails on QF93/QF11 in J+F across early to mid-Feb, but when I search for two pax, the above two dates and a bunch of QF15 seats are the only options I see currently.

Interesting thread, I am also NB however whenever we fly we book QF, until recently living in a regional area only QF flew to Sydney from home. VA now operate as well but their flight times don't suit if you are flying to Sydney for business. Notwithstanding this I have for a long time had the belief that you patronise your national carrier and they in turn should recognise you for your business. Sadly those days are long gone, their is no recognition of loyalty, and I believe what has been a cash cow for QF will gradually erode as they exclude seldom but loyal flyers from benefits such as upgrades.

I nearly cried when I saw the AFF email this morning talking about this.
I'm a bronze Qantas FF'er but have nearly a million points as everything I do revolves around earning points. And was hoping to redeem these points soon for SYD - LAX for 2 people in business class.
I understand it's hard in general to redeem award seats and you have to get them as soon as they come out, but now hearing this.... what's the point?

And there's no point buying the normal economy seats to then use points to upgrade in the lottery as I have the Bronze status...

Sad times ahead.

Do you think you can call Qantas to book the seats, would that be any different?

You would have thought since so many people have points it's a massive liability to Qantas so wouldn't they want user's to get rid of them??

Hello big_RED.

Calling QF will not increase your chances of scoring an award seat unless there is a glitch in the system.

QF wants you to get rid of the points by letting them lapse or buy toasters and Dyson and buy X award seats.

Why not get 1 revenue and 1 award seat???.

This thread scared the cough out of me. I'm an NB with lots of points from CC's. Pleased to find there are still F award seats available to me.

But why is any QF domestic connection to QF1, in Y, instead of J?

If my status was higher than NB, would the connection be in J?

That would be worth a call, but you may get charged more points
