Just sat on the phone waiting for 82 minutes to speak with QF Premium. Was told that these flights will be by invitation only and to wait for an email invitation.

As I am only LTG and not WP , I don't think that I will get an invite.

Would love to buy 2 J class seats main deck row 3 or 4 .... love to hear the nose wheel goes up just one more time.

It looks like my plans for a quick trip to CBR are out. Damn border closures. 🤬

I will be there in spirit. :(
Makes more than one of us! Shame it's so close to some borders being released, except of course, um, well, you know.

I don't think that is the case - this is the information I have:

Tickets for customers will go on sale on Tuesday 7 July on Qantas.com. Business Class tickets will be $747 and Economy tickets will be $400. Employees are welcome to purchase tickets on Qantas.com if unsuccessful in the employee draw.

If true that's disappointing as I am sure they would have roped in plenty of aviation enthusiasts for the flights, much like they did for the two LRE flights and the final 767 flight. There was even a little fanfare for the final 734 flight, that I missed out on as they kept changing their plans.

However, have read now that tickets will be on sale Wednesday at 12-noon.

Do we have any information on perks they might offer in those flights? Luggage tags or something like that?

The final 767 flight had a showbag (for want of a better term) on each seat containing a t-shirt, a QantasLink book and a Boeing 767 sticker.

There was champagne and lindt chocolates on board (in addition to the regular MEL-SYD 3pm weekend catering).

I wonder why they are not selling the repositioning flights? Perhaps they are only for staff.

As the flights weren't on sale, I guess the agent was telling you the truth... flight for staff will be invitation only?

Sales haven't opened! Emails from QF can be slow in coming... so I'd jump on the QF site, ready to go, as soon as sales open!

I sent ExpertFlyer an e-mail about this and they've now added ZZF to the system.

I'm very impressed that (a) you took the initiative to contact Expert Flyer, and (b) they fixed this so quickly. Well done on both counts!

Now that these flights appear on Expert Flyer, I had a look at the CBR-ZZF flight. Currently it appears in the GDS but shows as zero seats available in all fare classes (as you'd expect with tickets not going on sale until midday tomorrow).

Looking at the seat map, looks like the business class seats in the nose/upper deck will be reserved (perhaps for high-status flyers or media?)...

And in economy, middle seats are blocked...
