You would like to think that QF will consider
length of membership ( like they do with staff travel ie date of joining) along side status in offering this opportunity. I have been a QFF since 1989 and am LTG and held WP status for 7 years straight ... fingers crossed

I reiterate that I wouldn't wait for any 'invitation'. It could be first in, best dressed! Holding seats for those based on status, or length of loyalty may not work in this case where they don't know the demand. They could be holding those seats and never sell them if they go down that path.

Yes I understand your point but , how to know when the seats will be released for sale ?
Please advise . . How do you do a fare watch on this ?

The flights will go on sale at midday on Wednesday 8 July on Qantas.com and will operate on Monday 13 July (Sydney), Wednesday 15 July (Brisbane) and Friday 17 July (Canberra). Economy fares cost $400 and a small number of Business Class tickets will be available for $747 with additional extras included.

Thankyou 😊

Just sat on the phone waiting for 82 minutes to speak with QF Premium. Was told that these flights will be by invitation only and to wait for an email invitation.

As I am only LTG and not WP , I don't think that I will get an invite.

Would love to buy 2 J class seats main deck row 3 or 4 .... love to hear the nose wheel goes up just one more time.
that' not correct. they go on sale tomorrow.

I'm very impressed that (a) you took the initiative to contact Expert Flyer, and (b) they fixed this so quickly. Well done on both counts!

Now that these flights appear on Expert Flyer, I had a look at the CBR-ZZF flight. Currently it appears in the GDS but shows as zero seats available in all fare classes (as you'd expect with tickets not going on sale until midday tomorrow).

Looking at the seat map, looks like the business class seats in the nose/upper deck will be reserved (perhaps for high-status flyers or media?)...

And in economy, middle seats are blocked...

I'm seeing the same as a SG on the SYD flight.

Can any WPs/P1s confirm the same?

I'd be reluctant to go J with those blocks in place.

Trying to decide whether to spend $400 on this for a 1 hour flight.

Money and time aren't a huge issue but will it be worth spending $400 to go flying on an old aircraft.

Thanks! I've found they're really responsive when it comes to requests to add airports. I had to do the same for Bendigo (BXG) when Qantas announced it was going to start flying there.

Similar way as @Princess Fiona, but I know a P1 who was offered a place instead of being a P1. Otherwise, I would have been on the computer at 11:59 tomorrow refreshing Qantas.com.
OK thanks, I was just hoping there might have been another way as I will be in a work meeting at that time....

Wash your mouth out! ;)

Go and enjoy, and think of those who will travel vicariously with you through your eyes.
