With so few replies did QF not send many invites or not many folk are off to London to check out the show?

Seems this "olympics lounge" may well be a white elephent!

Maybe we could sell Olympic tickets to this and make a killing!

Hubby a plat got the invite via email. I replied for him to accept, so he can bring me as guest  But, have not heard any more detail about it.

I'm in the UK for the last week of the Olympics. I fly out on the 13th August. Probably would have taken up an invitation. I'm flying QF F from SIN so did wonder what the criteria was for an invite.

Was wondering if anyone has checked out the Qantas Olympics lounge yet. I got an invite and was thinking of heading there on Thursday with a friend to check it out.

Hubby and I will be there on Thursday as well. We replied for the date, but have not received a confirmation, so I guess we just turn up and see.

It seemed to be very targetted. Some P1's got it and other's didn't.

I got the email, replied, and received details about 2 weeks ago.

Mr grant32 and myself went last Saturday afternoon. About a dozen or so people, lovely drinks (including Boags - yum) and canapes. The lovely lady at the welcome desk suggested to just come on back any day to enjoy. A nice way to spend the afternoon before wandering off for dinner in China Town.

I've been in there the last two nights before I went to the Beach Volleyball.

On Monday there was about 50 guests of QF and Australia Post (who have an adjoining Lounge) but they left around 6pm to go to a function at Hampton Court. There were also a couple of athletes too who circulated and spoke to everyone. That left ~25 people in there to watch the two big screens. Last night was much quieter - only about 10-15 people, including 3-4 London-based QF staff.

It's a nice Lounge and a nice touch by QF. Free-flowing Boag's Premium, Perrier Jouet and some decent wines (the Parker Cab Sauv especially) and a few canapes here and there. Might be better as the week draws on and more athletes finish up in the Games so can make it down from the Village. Worth seeking out if you're in the area.

Thanks for the feedback from those that have attended, I'm looking forward to it now and also just got a text that some Olympians are due to attend tonight. Especially glad to hear about the Perrier Jouet it's one of my favourite champagnes. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but was meeting a friend for drinks anyway so figured I may as well go somewhere we can get them for free :-)

I will try to remember to bring a small camera along to take some photos. I did not get any sms about some Olympians are coming tonight - although I did provide my mobile number.

It's apparently going to be Chloe Hosking (Road Race) and Anabelle Smith (Sync Diving). I was hoping for some of the swimmers that have finished their events, but will still be cool to meet some of the athlete's.

Well, it is 6:45pm and I am sitting at home waiting for hubby to phone to tell me when I can go to his office to meet him and leave for the City. However, he said he has got too much work to finish up tonight!!! So, we are not going at all :(. Very disappointed as I was getting all ready.
