Massive +1 from me. Love the app.

Continuing off-topic... has everyone who uses the app checked out the website lately? Lots more features introduced, including ability to mark records which are not yours. It also shows your stats and map etc. like my flight stats etc. You also see they now have Basic, Silver and Gold (paid) levels of membership for more regular checking. Apparently some of the features will make their way to a new version of the app soon. Can't wait.

I'm currently able to select exit row seats on the QF website for free (including on international flights)...

I suspect it's an IT glitch rather than a policy reversal, but you may want to see if it also works for you... ;)

Saw the same thing on my domestic booking made tonight. Will look again tomorrow and see if still available for free.

Just changed mine on a 737 to row 14 and no charge.

This sounds positive enhancement although likely a glitch and charges will resume shortly.
Im so cynical arent I.

I was thinking it was a glitch, however it does specifically say "Extra legroom seating at $0" which suggests the system hasn't reverted to thinking it's a generic exit row seat without extra legroom (such as 44D,E,F,G on the A332). Fingers crossed that they've listened to the feedback and have extended it at least to WPs!

As side note, I did get a generic response to the complaint I lodged with Qantas a few weeks back that didn't actually answer a single point that I raised in the original email.

FWIW, we've had several AusBT readers holding QFF Platinum status also report nil charge for pre-selecting extra legroom seats on a domestic flight so are now checking with Qantas if this does indeed reflect an official recant in policy or just some odd glitch. Hopefully the former!

Reference point: Booked a BNE-SYD-BNE today for early Sept, exit rows showed red but no reference to any payment (neither $ or $0.). Currently WP - would be fantastic if this is a change after taking feedback on board.

I can accept bronze/silver etc being able to choose row 13/14 with payment if its free for WP - I already can't select R4/5 but there should be some preferential seating.

I booked award SYD-PER-SIN a month or two back. I recall exit row seats had a cost for each sector.
I checked MMB today and there was no cost shown for exit row seats, dom or intl.

I have been able to select exit row seats on both domestic and International today as a WP. Lets hope they have come to there senses but some how I doubt it..

If it is a glitch, why draw attention to it? And if it's a change in policy also good and doesn't need confirmation.

If QF confirms it's a glitch, we won't run a story because it's not worthy of such (might be for a blog but not for a news outlet).

If this is a change in policy then we do need confirmation from QF because is lieu of any announcement all we have is a series of anecdotal "this happened to me" observations – and if QF does confirm, then it's in the interest of travellers to know of this, given how widely-read and -commented the move was – this very thread being a case in point. It will also allow us to verify if the change applies only to Platinums or is also being extended to Golds, with the same aim in mind.

If it was a glitch people could go ahead and book seats free of charge. Raising it with the airline potentially reduces the window of opportunity.

No one *has* to be authoritative and publish a story about it... a simple 'we don't know exactly but enjoy the ride for the moment' would have come across more pro-passenger than pro-airline? If it's not a glitch then eligible pax would just continue on booking free of charge.

It's almost like calling an airline to ask if a low fare is an error :(
