Thanks markis10, I already did that. I was just trying to get my post count up to 15 so that I could follow it up with a PM. (Annoying restriction that, can't I use my FT cred as a starting point :-)

I have asked velocity Rewards to have a look at your request, you may get a PM!

Maybe AFF could do a status match with FT ;)

Then in order to sort of bring this straying back toward the topic, can I observe that in matching QF Gold to DJ Gold, DJ are being a darn side more generous than AFF if my 270 FT posts don't even qualify me to quote your own remark to place this in context!

I wasn’t aware you needed a set amount of posts to quote. Certainly to post an external link, but not sure about quoting…

Yes, any kind of link or attachment, including the tags created by clicking on the Reply with Quote button are forbidden by AFF to posters with fewer than 10 posts.

This now being my 10th, I should be okay to quote on the next one.

Apologies for taking up so much OT space getting to this point. I'll spread the remaining drivel to other threads as I iterate to the magic 15 for PM privileges before relurking.

I'm sure you will appreciate the limits are put in place as a result of people doing the wrong thing and in an effort to stop recurrence.

Remember that FT and AFF are quite different entities and that 10 (or even 270) posts on either is still quite a small number.

Yes, I do appreciate that. I have gotten a lot out of both forums [fora?], and have helped many others on FT. (not to mention PTS) It is quality AND quantity that count :)

I also feel obliged to say something on topic. QF post-Ansett was a very different beast to its customers. No longer driven by competition of a full service carrier, the era of "enhancements" was born.

The new competition started a while ago. IMHO DJ's domestic lounges are far superior to QF QPs and Business Lounges. And if you look at VS's lounge in LHR T3 there is no competition at all. For that reason, I started flying DJ in preference to QF quite a while back. But while I am Australian, I no longer live there so the lack of a real global alliance for DJ has meant I've now gone elsewhere.

Yet the real enhancements offering status for travel on the Virgin group, MH and Etihad are a step in the right direction for Velocity.

I look forward to DJ's on board product evolving upward as their competitors dive in a race to the bottom. Today, I'd have remained blissfully happy with NZ if they weren't in the process of committing short-haul commercial suicide, even as their long haul products are looking to lead the pack again.
