QF putting on a brave Christmas face in Sydney this week, this hall would normally be filled with people.

Sorry missed that, all but one. Too bad if you couldn't make the AM flight! No Tasmania for you! I wonder if VA2 are rebooking onto QF and JQ to Tassie as well as the NT? Seems quite excessive....

Maybe they know something that mere mortals don't know, or passengers have been spooked by the Doherty leak in the Fairfax papers.

I also wonder what will happen with LHR flights in the coming weeks - particularly if there is a lockdown there. Probably consolidate to 1 daily again.

More like the onerous testing didn’t come back in time or people have seen the news of Tassie throwing whole planes into quarantine and decided not to risk it…

QF is holding their schedule. JQ a couple of cancellations but VA2 seems to be cancelling the most.

Also any stood down crew would of been accruing benefits (ie sick leave) over the last 2years so probably have healthy balances to burn.

Or, more likely and by the reports, actually the case, lack of crews due to being close contacts. Tas flights usually the ones they sacrifice

Interestingly there was no boxing day / January sale by QF this year. QF have had Jan sales for many years (Maybe not 2021 either?)

Might be finding that demand cannot be simulated by low fares at the moment and have decided not to bother.
