Virgin has not bettered the current Qantas offer in the current Qantas promotional period.

So what?

Sorry buddy, you asked can they better this offer. The fact remains they have already better it. Therefore, thy can better it. Time period is irrelevant. It really can't be that hard to understand.

This thread has become a joke. You both cant have the last say so maybe just drop it? Its like a kindergarten playground in here

I agree it has. Maybe we can have it deleted as it will not benefit anyone?

My orginal thought was that if Virgin read the thread and heaps of Virgin customers were keen to participate in the Qantas offer maybe Virgin would try and one up the offer. It appears people interpreted my loosley worded question in a number of different ways.

Isn't the more important question which offer was the BEST, the qantas offer or the virgin...? Or in an aff context is it worth burning points on the current qantas promotion or wait for the next offer wirh the hope it is better.

Did you read my reply. You're adding things that were not in your original question. In any case the added bit about the current Qantas promotional period is irrelevant. Virgin have bettered the offer.

I'm also aware from discussing with a VA loyalty person at the mid-year christmas dinner that VA will not bring in a permanent offer as per they're previous offer. But they may repeat the previous offer again if they feel the need. Therefore, the past offer does provide an indication of what VA could do in the future. The fact that they bettered the offer in the past is very relevant as it shows that they could better the offer in the future. Therefore, Can they better the offer - YES. As demonstrated by the previous offer.

Now if you intended to ask WILL they better the offer, which is a very different question, you might have got a different answer if you had of actually asked that question.

Indeed, not sure why someone needs to repeat their previous post other than to have the last word.

haha you just proved the point

I'm not sure that's true Aussie_flyer. ;)

Now that danoleary55 has clarified what the intention of the question was, hasn't medhead (in that last post of his), actually given the closest thing to a real answer to a hypothetical question? He's passed on information straight from the horses mouth, as it were.

If you read closely you'll see that I include more information in my posts rather than just repeat my previous post word for word. Replying to your little quips is hardly part of the discussion.
