QF status earn on JAL

Some more data points for anyone interested. I recently flew two JAL Domestic Class J flights, booked on an international ticket as "D" class. These all credited to QFF as Premium Economy, earning me 715pts + 20sc for KOJ/HND.

So it seems like even on an international ticket, these are not treated as international flights for the purposes of QFF earn (otherwise it would've been Business)

Maybe its the same way QF treats pax flying MH but daring to put in their QFF #.
Ideally, I guess QF would prefer pax fly GK, or JQ japan, so the earn is so low.
Or non existent, for flying J that is.

I actually think in this case it's because JL's domestic fares and tickets are a little bit different to how we normally view it.

Take a look at a random date HND - cough search. That's only $20 difference between discount Y and "J class" (more aligned to PE intl, Incidentally F is 36k for this flight).

From a logic perspective that J class earning vs Y would be a bit of a steal if it categorised into J for QF. Also you have fare like Y with upgrade to J capability, Y with upgrade to F capabilities.

Honestly JL is just a bit confusing on it's own. Good product however.

And its been that way for a long term..
JL really doesn't understand what they should be charging for (space) in my view. I'd pay Y2000 for that J seat every day if the weak.

The few routes with domestic F use to be great for SC earn, before the changes.

Thought I'd revisit this now that I've done a few more JAL domestic flights...

JAL sometimes has sales on their domestic flights, which I took advantage of.
On the English site when booking, these appear as Promotion (vs Special Saver or Saver for the discounted fares).
These fares earned zero with QFF (the dreaded "No Matching Rule Element") and I'm not sure if it's the worth the effort to keep talking with QF support with the mixed messaging I was getting from their email team.

On a different domestic flight, Economy Saver -> day of departure paid upgrade to First definitely credited at the Flexible Economy rate to QFF.
