Just looking at some BNE to OOL JASA's at the moment, had hoped they would be 16000 but they are 24000 for 80SC's

just speaking with QF said they had a fantastic response to this sale and they may add a MEL-OOL direct flight next year.

3 return tickets for less than the fuel it would cost me.................i love price wars.

something needs to be fixed there

PER-OOL is 25000...doesn't make sense, should be 18000 like the JQ direct...

I just dummy tested 15 Feb 2013 YASA PER-OOL via SYD, QF574 then QF864. Cost is 18,000 pts + $126.88 + c/c charges. JASA on same date, QF576 then QF864, costs 36,000 pts + $174.36 + c/c charges.

I'm guessing BNE-OOL doesn't work on the "shortest flight" rule because BNE is not a marketed sale destination from OOL, and vv. So it will always be billed as two flights for the purposes of creating an award.

I wonder if Qantas will forgive the Prodigal Son who did not renew their Club membership this year due to no OOL flights ?

Battled away with Jetstar for a long time until I discovered Virgin ( now with free lounge access thanks to Amex !)

Will I have to to pay a new joining fee ? or will I have to fly business to enjoy the "Canteen" ?

It is now coming up at 16000 + cash (cash for a RT is quite steep at 543)

Kind of tempted to book one just to see the look of the person when trying to checkin at Brisbane!

"Where are you off to today sir"
"Gold Coast"
"huh

Got the same sort of reaction checking in at CNS for BNE when I routed via SYD!

Wonder if we can see a 767 over the school holiday season back into OOL? :D. I remember the QF 767 as a kid into OOL when I was in primary school.

I know pprune rumours are not always accurate (they were though with the proposed Tasmania schedule changes), but apparently the following are on the cards with fifteen additional airframes into QF;

- more FIFO Charters out of the East Coast
- and apparently....Hamilton Island!

Would be great to see MEL-OOL, HTI and the evening CNS flight reinstated.

If HBA can have a random 767 here and there for big events surely OOL can squeeze one in ;)

I know I'll get howled down here but.............

JQ - OOL-MEL - $124
QF - OOL-MEL - $88
VA - OOL-MEL - $75
TT - OOL-MEL - $60

TT are also pretty keen to win back their share of the market slice. Pretty good OTP, pretty good fare, aren't they still worthy players to help the top dogs keep realistic ideals?

Howled down why?

Each to their own, if you can stomach TT then go for it :)

BUT how about using JQ price Gaurantee and getting JQ at TT less 10%?

Leaving the price guarantee to one side for a moment, one would really have to wonder if JQ is really worth over double the fare of TT.

As for the price guarantee, I remember a small electronics shop getting peeved at Target (or K-Mart) offering a price guarantee which was costing them money. The electronics mob bought a couple of X-Boxes (or similar) and advertised them "on sale until stocks run-out" at prices well under cost. The stocks ran out very quickly and the shop just advised everyone to use their sale calalogue to demand Target (or K-Mart) honour their price guarantee....................

Its always a personal choice as to value however why would you not take advantage of a price reduction?
