Price matches don't earn points/SC, and points/SC seem to have a big value to most here
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh you have me I conceed defeat

Kind of tempted to book one just to see the look of the person when trying to checkin at Brisbane!
"Where are you off to today sir"
"Gold Coast"
"huh
Got the same sort of reaction checking in at CNS for BNE when I routed via SYD!
Leaving the price guarantee to one side for a moment, one would really have to wonder if JQ is really worth over double the fare of TT.
As for the price guarantee, I remember a small electronics shop getting peeved at Target (or K-Mart) offering a price guarantee which was costing them money. The electronics mob bought a couple of X-Boxes (or similar) and advertised them "on sale until stocks run-out" at prices well under cost. The stocks ran out very quickly and the shop just advised everyone to use their sale calalogue to demand Target (or K-Mart) honour their price guarantee....................
I know I'll get howled down here but.............
JQ - OOL-MEL - $124
QF - OOL-MEL - $88
VA - OOL-MEL - $75
TT - OOL-MEL - $60
TT are also pretty keen to win back their share of the market slice. Pretty good OTP, pretty good fare, aren't they still worthy players to help the top dogs keep realistic ideals?
$39 for OOL-SYD on VA? That's standard time pricing? That's dropping pants rates, right?
Give it time. I think they are testing the waters so to speak.Whilst I agree it is good to see QF back into OOL it is disapointing no direct flights from Melbourne.

Why?You could get it lower. Do a Jetstar price match
Well, either you move to gold cost or you become an expert on the OOL/Brisbane commute ...Why?
The Qantas and Virgin airfares were so low that I booked 3 Qantas returns and 6 Virgin returns for Jan-May next year and I am extremely pleased with my efforts. I would have booked more but I am uncertain of the exact dates for Thailand trips in February and April.
The total cost of those 9 returns is $810....
Very nicely done JohnK.The total cost of those 9 returns is $810....
The Brisbane/OOL commute appears to be relatively simple and will cost me nothing if I have been at work Mon-Fri. It should take ~2 hours if the bus waits for the train and vice versa.Well, either you move to gold cost or you become an expert on the OOL/Brisbane commute ...
... actually you're gonna become used to that, either way ...
My year ends first week in September so I will lose Platinum status and hopefully drop to Gold.Did you split them to maintain status?
I wish. My curse follows me everywhere and with Gold Coast weather I may be stuck on the Gold Coast some Fridays or land in BNE some Sundays. :shock:Keep us updated with the commutes when you do them (maybe your curse is confined to BNE?!)
With last weeks business class happy hour, the 4 flexis I will book for complimentary upgrade to business class and the OOL-SYD returns
So If i booked MEL-xSYD-OOL , I would get 20 SC's and 2000 points instead of 15SC's and 1000 points with JQ going direct MEL-OOL?
Just a clarification for me as my VA savvy is somewhat lacking. If I fly J via complimentry upgrade via flexi tickets, do I then earn J SC's?
It would be nice but not quite.Just a clarification for me as my VA savvy is somewhat lacking. If I fly J via complimentry upgrade via flexi tickets, do I then earn J SC's?
