Following on from my posts earlier.. I was also surprised about this decision by QF, so realistically had to venture down to OOL to witness it first hand ( I was only at Currumbin anyway!)
It was quite pleasant to view the QF jet back at OOL once more.. I always had pleasant memories of doing the OOL/SYD/OOL run back in the 90's with the adoring apron side QP with often little more than a few people.
Unfortunately today I didn't get within close proximity to the entourage & media scrum in their private section (invites only).. but managed to have some discussions with the QF staff on deck at OOL.
It will certainly be IMO a tough challenge to claw back the loyalty of frequent business travellers, which DJ has charmed since QF stupidly withdrew in 2008? Especially with the impressive DJ lounge on offer & the friendly attentive service in lounge & ground.
In my personal view & resident of GC, it has redeemed at least some faith in QF product & service on offer... So now it will be an interesting a 'four horse" race all jostling for pax in & out of GC.
I'm not so price sensitive, so will certainly utilise the QF product for OOL, as with DJ it provides a more quality offering especially in levels of comfort & reliability compared with the JQ & TT lesser quality options.
Many thanks to Red Roo for communicating fluidly of the day's events & websites glitches.
Next.. I certainly look forward to the upgrade in QF lounge facilities... some airbridges & an ILS system installed ASAP..
That would certainly reign in my complete loyalty to QF & the OOL facility..
For the moment, I remain optimistic.. step by step....
So, for now congrats QF.. A redeeming step in the right direction.. Thanks
