We need to have a check box to exclude rewards that are mixed class such as Business SYD-LHR (Business SYD-MEL/Economy MEL-LHR), such things may be useful to some people but I would like to exclude them if I can.

What has been previously suggested is that the check box excludes the longer leg in whY but allows the shorter leg to be in whY.

An oldy that needs attention- Take out that ridiculous (i) in award bookings, if a seat is only available in economy, don't show it in the business column

The ability to use codes for multiple airport cities, ie TYO NYC, to include all airports. Subsequently the ability to specify airports in a city, ie NRT, HND.

It sure annoys the hell out of me - if its not all one class DO NOT SHOW IT :p

Um, no thanks. I quite like being able to connect to F flights leaving SYD or MEL, and I don't imagine QF offering domestic F any time soon.

In addition to the above it'd be good to:
See points and SC's to be earned on upcoming bookings. Even better if we could link other OneWorld/EK booked flights into same.

.

Like this? QF, feel free to steal this (will take 1 SC for everytime it's shown on the site as commission :-) )

When searching for paid fares with flexible dates, and comparing fares on different dates, compare apples with apples.
This means if I search for business fares, don't show me fares which include sectors in economy on single class jetstar aircraft.
Showing these means I cannot do a true comparison of the cost of actual business fares on different dates.

I would also like the option of not showing jetstar sectors at all, as I will never make a booking which includes one.

Multi city bugs the cough outta me. If you book departure and destination it doesn't show you all QF coded flights. But I know they're there so search the segments individually and I have to call if it won't show all the flights I want on the multi city. Even flexible and non bring up different flights prices. If I search something I want to see all the prices and all the flights, not go back and forth all the time.

I dont remember if it shows what class you are booked in but that's useful if others are booking flights and want to know if it earns on partner airlines. Some others do it already and it's made me change my flights!

Yes would be good if it remembered the last 3 searches you did.

When you are searching and have to modify the search it makes you put everything in all over again when I just want to change a departure or a date etc. can't we just change the one thing instead of putting everything in all over again?? It's an unnecessary time waster.

The app keeps telling me I'm bronze with zero points and no trips. cough when I'm trying to get into a lounge or board a plane and have to step aside and give it a shake to work. just trying to save a few trees and use the phone.

Less advertising and space on the app would be great. I just want my flight info. You also have to scroll down and across a few pages on app just to get simple info. You could get the app to pop up a reminder when it's time to board.

Cheers

Mmm. +1 re booking J on the mobile site. You can on EK's, and I did last month. No sale there for QF, I would have liked to see what you were offering. More mixed class options, e.g. Y+ out and J back. More online destinations, e.g. KBL :-) +1 for better search engine memory.

Al great ideas - many which have been around for a long time. Qantas must be aware of them, but have chosen not to fix them, or give us timelines when they will look into them. TBH I can't see much incentive for them to fix premium award bookings... they make more money off economy tickets, and many who can afford premium awards are golden-handcuffed to Qantas so why change?

Points or SC's?

Point dont expire if you have some activity every so often.
SC expire every year. But the wheel once your login should give you a good indication of when that is highlighting your Membership Anniversary.

Points. Personally, my points will probably never expire as I keep my account active. But many infrequent flyers/inactive QFF members are probably unaware that their points will expire. QF used to show the date your points were due to expire prominently when you logged into your QFF account, but I would speculate that this was removed in order to increase points breakage from inactive members who are not aware of the 18 month rule.

I would think it was a time constraint rather than a lack of will on Qantas behalf.

Perhaps if Red Roo thinks this is a good idea we could let the thread run for a month or two, list all the features nominated and have members vote on their order of priority.
Once the list is collated, that's something Red Roo can pass on to the programmers.

Umm... yes... but this has been years now. Not a few weeks or months. If Avianca Lifemiles can tinker with their award booking engine once a year (for better or worse), you'd think someone with the resources of QF could do the same.

Now that is a very constructive idea, mods?

Seriously Red Roo, how are we supposed to compare business fares on different dates when fares with sectors in economy are thrown into the mix?
It's just absurd. No one in their right mind is going to pay a full J fare to sit in Y from DXB to CDG for example.
So we have to actually look at all the flights for each day and make notes to do a comparison.
Ridiculous.

Postscript - the process is so frustrating I have given up and I am now looking at other carriers who don't put this nonsense on their websites.

ive been using Pex and find it useful since it's a third party award search engine (not for qf)

Please red roo, get rid of the !

In manycircumstances, the :!: is necessary. Booking Y+ from anywhere other than SYD or MEL, you need :!: sectors in Y to one of those ports. Similarly, bookings in F, where the connecting sectors need to be in J. And also flights in J originating from regional (Dash 8 or similar) locations where only Y is offered on the connecting flight. And the same can be an issue on the other end of the routing, e.g. DXB-xx_ or LHR-xx_.

Obviously you need to have business rules plugged into the system to try and make the longer sectors in the class of choice. It looks like something QF have already worked on some; I tried a few options from BNE-CDG and BNE-HKG in Y+ and the options seemed sensible enough, the former had choice of flights with the Y sector in either DXB-CDG or LHR-CDG ((Hobson's, but they're the obvious choices). The latter gave me connecting flights in Y from BNE to either MEL or SYD. I didn't find any of the ridiculous options that have been offered in the past.

Maybe if people had specific instances of situations where the search engine provided silly results that would let them identify why the anomaly is occurring and help them tweak their business rules some more.
