QF WP goes across Australia...a live TR adventure

Work is done for the morning and I've packed up but not yet ready to check out - lunch beckons. Chocolates and a note left for Jocelyn, who isn't back on shift until later this afternoon.

After last nights Tapas, I'm back for more (plus the additional HHonors points as well). However no red wine - there'll be enough of that onboard this evening. Only making one change to theTapas - chorizo out and deep fried feta with rocket pesto in.

Anastacia was gobsmacked when she delivered by lemonade to the table - "what are you doing back" (I could have said the same thing to her). Well, when you're onto a good thing :D

From far to near - grilled garlic prawns, deep fried feta with pesto and grilled salmon (see earlier menu)

Great value for $19

I mentioned to the server who took away my lunch that I'd loved the tapas, but hadn't drowned the prawns in the garlic butter, lest I scare away my seat mate tonight on my flight home.

Cheekily, she gave me my bill and some tic tacs:

Subtle :D - I laughed so much I nearly cried. Will have to tip her ;)

Maybe she'd already noticed?

Left the Hilton now and enroute to airport. Scored another London (Perth) taxi. Love the space - this is Business Class:

Wow, the Graham Farmer Freeway is at a standstill - thankfully we turned left off it, onto the Great Eastern Highway to the airport. Love the fact that taxis use the bus lane here (assuming it's legal :o ) - that saved some time

Great safety and anti fare evasion option:

I like the wifi in the cab as well - would make me choose them over the standard car

I met the Cancer Council girls outside Gate 17 on my ill fated walk around looking for the VA Lounge:

Give generously :D

Did those two cuties make their way into your bag?

I'M TALKING ABOUT THE TWO BEARS MrsQFWP. ;)

I'm glad I re-read your post before replying, Pushka :o

No they didn't :( - I already have one. Plus have a direct debit set up for the Cancer Council. They only give them (the bears) for larger on-the-spot donations.

Interesting thought though Pushka - don't know what my wife or Laura's boyfriend (the one on the left with the coloured hair) would think. Plus how would either of them fit in my hand luggage??

Um. That suggests you thought about it...,

You worry too much about small details. Will - way yada yada.

Back to the TR. Arrived at the airport and over to the Premium line - easy check-in and BP given. Luckily saw the premium line to Security which is just on the left hand side of check-in. Walk through and get another ion scan for this trip (well, I was the only one going through at the time).

Pet peeve for the day - the lack of signage for the VA Lounge in Perth.

There was no signage that I saw after Security - up the escalators I go and search the area near the first two Gates, then make my way around to the left where I met the CC girls. After moving on, found nothing so had to stop a VA girl to request directions. Her comment "oh yes, a lot of people get lost looking for it - just hop in that lift (hidden around the corner), go back down and turn right- it's actually around the side of the Security."

So finally here - nice and big. Will take some photos for you Pushka :D

Okay, time for some more work and recharge the batteries for my longish flight

How on earth did you get lost QF WP?? It's right in front of you after you pass through security... seriously... take a navman next time :p

Now onboard at Gate 19, after no trouble finding the Gate - but I showed Laura your message Pushka and she blushed :D

A full 8/8 in J and a schoolmate (who I've only ever met aboard flights) is in 1F. Should be a good flight home.

Gave the chocolates to the FA and she didn't know what to say (must be a first timer).

My seatmate was a lovely 30-something who works for a large company who gives out FlyBuys in the OH&S area. Kept her entertained the whole way home.
