QF19 Delayed 24hrs

I am booked to fly on QF19 tomorrow however just received a text message from QF that the flight has been delayed by 24hrs!

Is there any info on why this service has been pushed back a whole day seeing as it's ex-SYD?

Alternate routes are proving difficult this late notice which doesn't help as I have a few meetings in MNL scheduled for Thursday.

I suspect it probably has something to do with QPB going tech in MEL. It was meant to operate the QF35 MEL-SIN today but is still on the ground in MEL, with a rescheduled departure of 09.00 tomorrow morning. That bird was meant to turn around in SIN to operate the QF82 back to SYD, possibly to catch your QF19 flight to MNL.

That's not happening now so they probably have had to do some reshuffling to get things back on track.

It is frustrating seeing as the delay is ex-SYD! I don't fly LCC's for business trips for the sole reason that if a plane goes tech there will be another ready to go. How is QF running 10 asian destinations with 10 planes? Not much room for error

You'd think a domestic 330 could be pulled and folks routed on another flight via MEL or something....MNL flights still seem to come last on the QF priority list.

If you are travelling in J, there is a good chance they will rebook you on CX (this happened to me earlier this year). If not in J, then almost certainly...tough!!

J is full on all CX except the late flight which does not help. QF offered me SYD-SIN with 5hr layover then last PAL flight to MNL arriving at 1am. I politely declined.

Bad time of year to be trying to rebook within 12hrs notice...
