Oct 31 is the effective date, QF have proposed retimed flights as well

D QF230 LHR-HKG 18:25 744
D QF230 HKG-MEL 19:50

It would be a great deal easier if QF had a flight exPer at 0900 or earlier instead of 1230..... (They did at one time) Or if CX had a slightly later flight SIN-HKG

I can't help to think that QF do not want you to be able to use that connection. Even though there are some fares HKG-PER that allow the SIN connection. At this point I would jump to the first one that code shared PER-HKG with AA for connections HKG-USA or PER-NRT with AA.

The disappearance of the 0900 departing flight ex PER was the very reason we squeezed a holiday into March (it ended 28Mar10). Knowing how tired we all are after the return flight we simply don't want to start out that way, hence the dash through SIN seems like a good idea to try and avoid an o/night flight.

I think we can travel up carry on only, buy a cheap suitcase or two at a Market (probably Stanley) and proceed to fill them over the next week or two the next time we go. Ms. Jnr 11sjw has been promised a trip to see the Princesses again for her 5th Bday next year.

At first I thought 'hey this allows me to connect off the afternoon flight from POM, have a weekend in HKG or somesuch place, then take PX9 HKG-POM.

The I thought, um, a red eye there and a red eye home. In these shoes? I don't think so!

Well perhaps the connection is good for BNE-LHR. We are committed to never again doing this in Y, but now if I routed BNE-HKG-LHR it means a Y+ fare with Y seating on the overnight sector. This makes sense not. Like NM I wouldda gone the overnight stop in HKG any day.
