QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

Just tried for my first ever J Classic Rewards release after 13 years as a QF WP!
Trying for BNE-LAX-BNE via SYD in mid-Nov/early Dec for the Teen's graduation trip ...

Eeeep, looking at the Booking Reference the call centre agent gave me, BNE-SYD, SYD-LAX, LAX-SYD are all showing a status of "Confirmed", with SYD-BNE "Requested". 🤞🤞

OK, the booking is now showing up in My Trips (hmm, in the app, but not online), but that last leg is still Requested.

I have looked at EF and that flight is showing I0, but the next SYD-BNE flight is showing I4. Doh!

Should I call the call centre and see if it's possible to change the request for that leg?? Feeling rather uncertain as I've never done this before.
 
I've had a successful day today, with two separate requests approved both through offshore call centres.

1. 2 x Y on Qantaslink priced ~$500 pp N9; approved while on the line; SA agent

2. 1 x F on QF2 in May; A9 I9, approved while on the line; Fiji agent said J was also approved o_O

Waiting on tickets but both agents projected knowledge and competence so 🤞

Yep, I'd tried numerous times on numerous dates for this trip and nada. Had decided that QF1/2 wasn't happening and had booked EK while moaning about the surcharges. I'm PC and the SCs will help me along and I always get a good sleep in QF F.

Got an email this morning asking to call QFF about this request. I called, and Kate helped me. Her accent was not indicative of any particular call centre (that is, a different accent to one I'd expect in HBA, CPT,NAN, etc).
Kate said it was all confirmed, except for the last flight. So I asked her to check capacity on the next flight to BNE, 1hr later. That came back with availability, so it was all confirmed.
Kate took payment for the taxes (~$700 pp) and got our DOB and middle name details for APIS purposes.

I can see the trip in my phone app, but not in my trips on a web browser when logged in to my account. Points have NOT been deducted. Seats selected on all legs and all legs showing as Confirmed in the phone app.

I have since added our passport details through MMB on the website with the PNR and surname.
I have tried to add arrival address (there's an X showing in street number and name) to both passengers, but the data entry is not persisting. I've tried on phone and on the website.

How long should it take for points to deduct?
 
@Katie, usually the points are deducted instantly (my experience) but there can be hiccups. The important thing is to ensure the ticketing happens. With my 2 on the weekend, one ticketed within hours and the other (a simple domestic route) I'm still waiting on. Like yours, this one shows in the app but not in MMB. Will call later in the day if nothing changes.

I have noticed that web online 'my bookings' now only appears when ticketed, whereas App still shows both ticketed and unticketed bookings

My last successful booking had a similar issue. Had to ring back and push to have the points deducted to allow it to ticket. There was some comments about the points deduction being done by a different team!?

I called again today, and talked to the same agent as yesterday. She said it's all confirmed, it's fine, and in queue with the ticketing team. She said that team prioritises on departure date, and this being November is lower priority.
I think she told me not to worry and only call back if it hasn't ticketed by 24hrs prior to departure. :eek: I'm not going to trust that advice!

@BriarFlyer how'd you go with your unticketed request?
 
Brisbane to Singapore direct - I've tried requesting J seats on this flight over many years for reasonably specific dates - zilch - has anyone had a positive experience for this flight for a WP ?

I landed in Adelaide yesterday morning at 10am for a day trip for Gather Round. I had booked JQ on the way back not thinking I could make the 6pm QF flight (QF744), but landed in Adelaide to find it had been cancelled. Rang the call centre to see if I could get a seat released, knowing it wasn't certain being less than 8 hours before departure, but the agent granted the request. Not sure how many fare classes of each were left but I know it wasn't available on QF's site as a reward you could book yourself. Better yet, I got put right in 6C even though the flight was fairly full.

It is one thing to have requests granted for a trip several months in advance but to have one released at such short notice when you'd otherwise be stranded overnight without a change of clothes or toiletries is another altogether.

I'd have thought you'd be in a with a pretty good shot at this outcome as part of JQ recovery anyhow?
