I have requested HKG-MEL again yesterday. QF30. Around the end of Sept with a little flexibility.

No joy again, even though 'sale' fares are listed as available

Do you have access to EF? Usually even if Sale fares are available but inventory is <9 it makes it difficult.

Oh ok, most decent of you Thu 28 Sept. I rank back this morn and got AKL I think. She said she would see if she could get a "manual review"

That is good information, thanks Traveller. I guess the fact I can ring up and ask is where it starts and stops. There still looks to be plenty of seats so one would think they could be a bit helpful to PLatts!

I did think this too Kangol, however at least she tried.

I have made some successful requests for colleagues for transpacific services to the USA.
I've been able to get business seats SYD to LAX close enough to the preferred dates in April 2024.
The ones that come thru were on A380 flights Melbourne / Sydney to from the USA.
I'm guessing because they have a lot of premium seats available .
The successful return dates for 2 pax had I seats available , lowest pricing at "business sale " level and were A380s.
You are only allowed to request awards for family members. All agents ask what the relationship is to the WP or P1’s account holder is.

While it is an upublished benefit, the rules for redemptions are the same as the drop down box when booking awards for others.

Requesting for colleagues is a violation of the T/Cs and while QF isn’t as aggressive as VA, a range of different people having redemptions from your account could trigger an audit, forfeit your points and ban you from the program.

We also know QF read AFF, even if RedRoo officially retired.

I appreciate your advice. Thank you.

Interesting. The few times I've done it for my SO they never asked. Just name and details.

In March as SG, after a few HUACA calls we were very fortunate to get a competent agent who sorted our QF 30 as involuntary re route for late September when KLM flights changed and didn't meet MCT.
Hope you have some luck with it @Cessna 180.
