QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

I did have a South African agent tell me as a Plat that I can't request if it's not on the website, asked to be speak to a supervisor, she said it's not possible and terminated the call.

Rang back and got Hobart and was requested and booked within 10 minutes.

Their service is so wishy washy.

Those agents appear to be total rubbish

So I called and got 2 x J domestic return seats released yesterday over the Melb F1 weekend for March 2024.
Agent on the phone confirmed, took my credit card details (and money has come out) and got the 6 character booking/reference number.

The booking appears in my QF app, but doesn't show online via website.
Also haven't received a formal itinerary via email.
Strangest of all, no points have been deduced.

The booking in the app shows confirmed, I can select a seat etc.

Should I be worried? It's been just over 24hrs.
Call back and ask them to confirm everything?

Any success stories in getting 2x F seats released on QF11 lately? (Platinum)
Hoping to get seats released for September 2024 once they are available.

FYI for those playing at home - called support this morning. Reason points weren't deducted was because I was quoted the wrong amount of points for the reward tickets (??) so the ticket wasn't finalised.
Lovely lady from NZ fixed it all within about 10min & confirmed it's off with ticketing now.

I've put in a request for J seats to be released HKG to Syd. Still waiting on confirmation but the Hobart agent told me that if they are released they can't add it to my RTW trip, I need to pay for the points separately, Is that correct?

I've had no problems getting a request in for an existing booking, not that the seats have been approved...

It was the single reason I went for platinum, to add seats to a RTW booking..agree getting approved is the next hurdle..fingers crossed as there are 9 i seats available...

Hi all. Been WP since 2016 or so, but this is my first post in the forum. I had no idea that we can request rewards seats as described in this thread.

We are planning a trip to Europe a year from now and have no issues with locking in the dates - would it be a good approach to call and request two J seats for BNE>SIN>LHR or BNE>PER>LHR on the day that the flight becomes available?

And is my understanding correct that requesting seats can only be done for Qantas operated flights?

If I have a flight say - delhi -melbourne - sydney, can I request the melbourne - sydney flight be moved to the following day if it's a linked booking?

Qf flights only.

My understanding is there needs to be seats bucket fare ‘i’ available & even then is up to the revenue gods to approve

The most recent agent I talked to seemed quite experienced, and said he had never seen the software approve a Business or First class release on QF1 or 2.

Manual review, yes (P1 only) but the software, no.

I was asking for QF2 in A, Singapore to Sydney.

Have not gone back far enough in this thread to see if anyone reports having every got a seat released on QF1/2.
