QFF Platinum requesting release of extra Classic Reward seats?

I should see it as a confirmed flight in my bookings, and I need to call them to issue the ticket?

Exactly. Once it's showing as Confirmed just give them a call. You'll probably beat them to it if your experience is anything like mine was.

Well almost 48 hours on, no award seat released despite it being all 9s on EF.
Just a coda....did a normal search for awards on the day I was looking for, and it seems there are now seats available but my special request still shows on request.

Ring up, looks like it might've been rejected. They say to ring back in 24h regardless of what it says

x2 J released on QF3 for my parents departing 21 Sep 20. The request had to go to the P1 queue approved in less than 24 hours. They did want 23 Sep but an extra 2 days in Hawaii I am sure they will not complain.

1 x J released for SIN-MEL A380 three weeks out. I3 - instantly released.

I have an OWA booked and the last leg is SIN - SYD on BA

Can i ring up and request two J seats on QF82 and then if approved get them them to remove the BA flight and sub in the QF?

Ring to change the OWA leg, not as a separate booking. It will temporarily be on request. Easier that way.

How frequently can you request a seat release?

I'm looking for 3xJ seats on QF62.

When I search the website for 3 J it says unavailable. However, when I search for 2 it show as available.

So I called and asked for a seat release and it was declined.

Loads show as follows

Should I just call them every day to try again, or will that result in a black mark in my profile?

Maybe they won't release an additional seat while there are still 2 available?
It’s possible.

The agent (HBA) said he could split the booking, take the two and then request the third.

However, as it’s a fairly complex One World Classic Flight Award, I decided splitting into two PNRs was going to make it all more difficult in the long run... especially as more changes are likely.

This is my understanding of what must have availability for a request to be considered:

Domestic
N for Economy
D for Business

International
Q for Economy
T for Premium Economy
I for Business
A for First
Based in the advice above from @Danger I’ve requested a seat release on QF62 NRT-BNE which is showing 9’s across the board (including I bucket) on three different days (see example below).

J - 9
C - 9
D - 9
I - 9

All the days I’ve tried also show U2, but we will have 3 pax so I need one released. The bot has said no to all three days on two different calls.

Travel dates are two weeks clear of school holidays and not near the Olympics.

So my questions:
1. Has any WP had success asking for a manual review? I understood this was an unpublished P1 benefit.

2. On the first call the agent suggested splitting the booking, taking the 2 available J seats, then asking for one to be released. This seems to back up what @opusman suggested yesterday (that they won’t release a third with 2 still showing available)

This is just one of 10 sectors in a Oneworld Classic Flight award, are there risks splitting it into two PNRs?

3. On the second call the agent suggested taking the 2 J seats and one Y and then requesting an upgrade. Can this even be done in a Oneworld Classic Flight award?

1. I'm pretty sure manual review after a "no" is for P1 only and not WP.
2 and 3. Is this a OWA that has already been created? If so, you won't be able to do it because the 3 pax need to have the same itinerary.
If a new booking, the risk of splitting is that you may not be able to book the same itinerary, which I'm guessing is the whole point.

It's an existing booking.
I'm looking for alternatives to what I currently have which is a four sector, 40 hour return from Europe that includes a 12 hour layover in MNL. :(

Has anyone tried getting a seat released on one of the "limited schedule" domestic government subsidized flights? I need to travel in the coming weeks and right now there is absolutely no reward availability at all on QF (can't imagine these flights are full - just a question if QF is allowing reward redemptions).
