Ohh, before I go walkabout... ask about being upgraded, with or without the usage of points.
..I chickened out.....
Aye, Platinum, Gold, Silver, but it also mentions QC members, aka QP members can also ask.
I chickened out.Didn't dare ask.So, that's it then.Back of the "bus".Have fun. I will leave you lot in peace for the next few hours. Rue the day I found this website, eh? Flight coming up, and then some time to spend in MEL, then back later with VA.
We have enough points to request an upgrade but can't seem to be able to request it as it is on an Emirates plane. Even though it was booked through Qantas.

That annoys the hell out of me. If on a QF codeshare, why isn't there a system to use your points to upgrade? Given the few destinations that QFi actually flies to with its own metal the opportunities to burn points on anything other toasters are getting rarer and rarer!
As for burning points, SYD to SIN In F with points plus pay... EK... maybe.
Have many - about 10 return flights with QF and EK with a QF flight code. To NZ and within Au.
Yap, Lowjhg... thats it.
On the flight I am on, it shows 5 J or subclass of it, as available.
I will ask and see what happens, anyroad.
Back in the dark ages, pre the Enhancement era, it was commonplace to ask at the QP desk "Any chance of an upgrade ?". The success rate was then pretty good. Then fast forward a few years and all of a sudden the same question was met with "Do you want to use points ?". Now, you want an upgrade, you pay for it somehow.
So actually it's from the long list of other mostly more 'official' things that have been taken away from us by QF in recent years. So much so that it's seemingly now become bad etiquette to even bring it up. QF have got us well trained haven't they ?

Sure ... "Business First" was the combined class in the later 90's with the "First" being quietly dropped six or so months later. Was this in the days when there used to be dom F as well as dom J?

these days it's hard to find a flight without any WPs on it.
