QR withholding award seats from Qantas?

This gets more and more curious, the cost of the "direct" CBR to DOH is jacked up monsterously even on their own site, cheap to go virgin->QR from CBR to MEL then to DOH than to go direct CBR to MEL even when that includes getting Virgin to MEL and then getting ON THE SAME PLANE at MEL to DOH, what on earth?!?!?!?!

Some of that difference (potentially most) may be because a 1pm departure with a shorter transit in DOH is much preferred than 7:15am departure with a longer transit. And there may not be many of those seats left.

Out of interest, nothing has changed with VA ie none of their QR rewards flights have disappeared. Annoyingly, they have plenty of business class flights.

Possibly showing QR favouring a partner that like Virgin Vs one they loathe (and that's mutual, I think). I remember when QF selectively didn't give the same points and SCs if you flew QR, compared to those awarded for a near identical length of trip on, say BA. And they hated BA too!!

Link is "UP", but greatly limited.
I can see Y availability on flights to 18NOV, and a smattering further in NOV, but nothing after the end of NOV22

I can understand the 18 Nov date as relating to the FIFA world cup. Hopefully the data for post world cup is just stuck in the data pipes and comes back online soon...

Not sure if this is entirely relevant because I only read 2 pages back... I managed to book a classic reward CDG - MEL in QR J for late Feb 23. No P1 here, just a lowly gold. Booked via the Qantas website.

When I booked last week there was still J flights available late Feb from both CDG & BCN to MEL.

Well definitely no hope for bronze then if gold is lowly lol. Although seems kinda situational, so are these seats only available if they originate from outside of Aus?

I suspect that these seats were booked prior to the more recent drop (since Wednesday evening) in seat availability across all classes.

I was only looking from Europe to Australia so I'm not entirely sure. From experience, it's usually easier to find classic rewards heading to Australia rather than from. When I snagged my QR flight I did notice that there was a ton of CX J flights from multiple cities in Europe to Australia.

I booked Wednesday evening.

Yeah definitely more available as long as not originating from within Aus. Eg can see both first and business class rewards available with Emirates etc to europe for early next year if departing from Malaysia or Singapore.

Whilst waiting for QR, I've been looking at MH - frustratingly, they only release 1 (ONE) premium seat on many flights

Need some assistance with searching business class reward availability on Qatar Airways. I am planning a trip to Athens on or around 20 May 2023. I wish to depart from Sydney . I am a privilege member. I've noticed there is zero availability in business class. I am flexible and happy to fly to any other European city and connect to Athens. Is there a search tool I can use to find which sector has availability during this time period. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Isn't qantas opposing Qatar from having additional flights to Australia ? If that is true, why would Qatar extend any benefit to QF's FF program ?

... especially when QF withholds benefits of its FF program from its own FFers!!
