QR withholding award seats from Qantas?

Something definitely seems to be up. I can't see a single Qatar Airways award seat on any date or route on the Qantas website right now.
Yep, they have all gone.
Ive been looking at BKK-DOH for a while now and there has been tons of Y, J and F availability but it’s all disappeared

Maybe QR is sick and tired of QF not reticketing changed flights in time and copping flack from irate customers when things go pear shaped.
Is that a QF or QR issue? You don’t seem to hear the same issues with QF redemptions on BA, AA etc.

Same here. I've been look at award seats BNE-DOH-EDI with QR for two pax in J for a while (hoping to fly out July / August next year). There is generally nothing available direct out of BNE however there is the occasional flight via KUL (MH to KUL and then QR onwards). I did find some availability going CX to HKG and then QR to DOH and EDI but this all disappeared yesterday morning. I also was wondering if this is a QF glitch or QR pulling seats from QF. Very frustrating as I'm keen to try QSuites .

Same here, coming up with zero J award on QR flights AUS-DOH or DOH-AUS right out until max days out.

It wont even show me options from SIN-DOH - comes up with erros or just not showing any QR flights at all, only AY,BA and QF
I am only looking in the months ahead but QR have released economy award seats for multiple dates SIN-DOH!

I've read anecdotal reports that there is some ok (not great) availability from CBR.

Thank you BNEFlyer. There was quite a bit of availability from CBR in earlier months but so far nothing for when I’m looking to travel.

Surely it is a glitch as you simply can't search - I can't imagine a fellow One World airline literally pulling every possible reward seat from Qantas (including economy)....the seats are still available to search and redeem on other partner airlines such as BA & AA.

Qatar Airways award seats have now been gone from the Qantas website for 2 days, so it's clear that something unusual is happening here.

I've reached out to both Qantas and Qatar Airways for comment but am yet to receive replies from either airline.

Searching again tonight BKK-DOH and plenty of availability in Y and F on the A380

On the Qantas website? I just tried doing a BKK-DOH search on Qantas.com and get either an error message, RJ availability or UL availability. Nothing showing on QR.

Having a look now, it looks like QR availability is showing again on the QF website for travel dates up to mid-November 2022, but not for anything later than that.

How bizarre.
That's when they will go to VA (only joking) :)

I managed to get premium seats next March a couple of weeks ago, but I am consistently finding it hard with QF booking systems and their lack of flexibility and I have status. I have decided to diversify my points and I think in the long run that will prove beneficial as there is just so many of these situations popping up all the time.

Makes perfect sense IMO, I had been looking at similar dates a few months back and seats were sparse even then

Assuming the milions of QFF (and other FF programs) on standby to be redeemed over the school holidays with 2 reward seats per flight (28 flights per week to/fro Oz), something's gottta give

Assuming the 2 seat limit doesn't apply for AA / BA etc...

This is only affecting Qantas Frequent Flyer. The seats are all still there for other Oneworld frequent flyer programs including AAdvantage and BA Executive Club.

If this is a deliberate move by QR, I can somewhat understand why they would do it. But this is without precedent and certainly not in the spirit of the oneworld alliance.

I have found that the Qantas.com website seems to be very flaky on Chrome but if you use Firefox there seem to be no errors.

I was able to find QR flights CBR-DOH-MAN return, in a mixture of Economy, Business and First. $1359.40 in taxes and 641,000 QFF points. (Qantas Gold)

As discussed up-thread, QR availability does appear to be back now for travel dates up to around 18 November 2022. But nothing later than this.

Ive got errors for June/ July 2023. Trying to get something from DOH to WAW

Usually this leg has heaps of availability (Business/ First)
