Changes are official now (scroll down to point 8): https://www.qudosbank.com.au/Products/CreditCards/VisaPlatinum
...and even worse, officially ATO payments are now excluded from points earning from Dec 1...not sure I will keep this card now when my anniversary date comes round in April next year :(

I don't do ATO but I was hoping to start putting school fees on it next year. Sadly the monthly limit will preclude that :(
Back to the drawing board.....

Thanks Beasley,
After the demise of the Jetstar Platinum card, I was seriouslylooking at switching over. Seems as though obtaining 1:1 using either Visa or M/Cis getting increasingly more difficult. Where to now??

The invite-only Bankwest World apparently pays 0.66 ppd. I'm also interested to see what Diners do with their companion MasterCard. Hopefully they will announce this soon so I can decide on the ideal mix of cards to hold.

Go early and go hard is the plan.

Yes, already... started here, load pay rinse & repeat

One wonders if they let the cat out the bag too early...? It's quite possible to do a great deal of payments to you know who from now until December 1st...

Stop around November 28th unnamed to avoid any processing delays.

good advice Cove...

Guess your girlfriend Svetlana at you know where will be quite busy for the next 51 days... hope you don't get sore fingers ;-)

Have been doing Government Easy Pay once I realised she was playing me along. I like the email receipts.

Received an email today confirming this too.

No statement yet. So sad!

I reloaded mine today as time is of the essence now. Another family member is running hot too. Fun times ahead is what I am thinking so having two cards is pretty helpful.

as they say... load early & load often...

amazing how big some peoples personal tax liability is these days...

Ah well, had to happen sometime. Was good while it lasted. I will make sure I only put $2.5K a month on it from Dec.
I'm really cheesed off after going through their painful application process they pull the pin on decent rewards and raise the price, customer value at its best I'd say. I too will swap back to alternate cards to limit my spend on the Qudos Platinum card. Hardly woth the $250 pa I think. Well done Qudos!

I would suggest you would be better off saving your $250 and just get the HSBC Platinum Qantas Credit Card @ $199 per annum (60,000 bonus Qantas FF sign on points)

If you have not already got it...

Given that all banks cards businesses have the same revenue and cost issues and Qantas charge all the card issuers the same amount for points it's hardly surprising that this card has been clipped. It was only a matter of time.

. Reviewing the scheme market the issuers are left with 2 options only;

1) Cap the points at 1:1 for the first $2500 and then 0.5 until a peak is hit
2) 0.5 or 0.66 per $1 spent

This is on top of reduced interest free days and higher ancillary fees.

As has been discussed previously, A proprietary Amex and some kind of scheme card with low expectations is the best you can hope for. The Diners Club/Mastercard is now the best product in the market not withstanding the patchy service from Citibank and the acceptance of Diners only at major stores.

The Visa/Mc party is well and truly over now.

Not over tonight....just reloading tonight.Actually I am reloading 3 other cards at the moment. It is fun times and we know the finish date on this one.

Yes, yes, yes... 46 days to go. The sky is not falling, well not yet anyway.

It's times like these I wish I had a bigger credit limit on this one.

Just did a repeat because I could a few minutes ago. Tomorrow night is my next one.

I will add my dislike for Qudos card now as well. I will make the change before my anniversary. Points decrease AND an fee increase is just too much

I am loving this card today. It will be over at the end of November and not before then.

Called Woolworths cards yesterday and had my annual fee for the WOW Qantas Visa waived for the next year. I have not used it at all since getting the Qantas Credit Union (QUDOS) Visa. So with the two cards I now have $5000/month spending at 1:1. Just need to juggle the spending.

I don't use either card (or any card) for ATO payments so no issues with that exclusion for me. But I do regularly put more than $5000/month through the Visa card. Perhaps more will go back onto the Amex to keep the combined Visa spend below $5000. The Amex currently only used to purchase discounted Wish cards through RACQ.

Anyone successful in fee waiver for Qudos Visa card? I suspect there may be a few people calling up to cancel their card following this news.
