Qudos Bank Visa Platinum

I only recently paid the annual fee for Qudos, this month and next it's getting hammered to make as many points as quickly as I can. From December I shall call them and will close all accounts including my transaction accounts which were only really handy to top up the Qudos Visa (my limit is small)

Although I could keep the card for at least another 6 months, until the annual fee is due again, I think they really need to be told their product is rubbish with the changes.

I can understand the removal of points on ATO. I can sort of understand a monthly points cap, but that annual fee they expect people to pay, what a shocker...!

41 Days to go !

I just got the email. I've been expecting the party to end for a few months ago. A contributor in another thread earlier in the year said that there are hardly any 1:1 uncapped cards around these days. Pity, as I was putting $50,000-$70,000 a month through the card. One big push (it's BAS month) and I'm going elsewhere.

Other than the sign-on bonus the HSBC card isn't exciting.

I just got a survey on customer attitudes from Qudos Bank. Took the opportunity to stick the boot and say goodbye. I'd say they were worried and have been losing big-spending customers like me and others in this thread.

I'll keep using the card until my anniversary date at the end of January, then close all accounts and revert to using my CBA Diamond Rewards card. The points earn is average but it is fee-free (an accident of ancient history).

Was it an online survey or did someone call you...?

Another big month for me on this card, pushing some big numbers through as a farewell gift, to be honest, I'm pushing the limits because I dislike the coming changes next month...

Only a handful of days to go until its out with the titanium scissors, and we all know titanium is stronger, tougher & harder than platinum

I won't cancel this card until the year is up. No point missing 2500 points a month until the renewal date approaches.

That's a very good point Cove... in theory I can earn another 25,000 points over the next 10 months on Qudos, all be it 2,500 points at a time... however I can also earn 60,000 points from HSBC by retiring Qudos and outlaying $199 for a new application ;)

The future appears to be in sign on bonuses from now on....

If you are eligible the 100,000 Westpac CC thread has been my youngest son's favourite. He put $5,000 ATO to go minimum spend so that cost $72.50 this month.

It was a link in a personally-addressed email.

Ditto big month...all-time record for October: 81,000 points. BAS helped. Won't be so good for November but I'll do my best to say goodbye with a bang. I suppose I could pre-pay BAS & PAYG for the quarter.

I guess that is one way to get a tax refund unnamed. I am finishing the ten thousands on Sunday seeing we are about to travel. I will clear the balance on this CC before the end of the month so I can admire my handiwork when the QF points all post.

Yes Cove this point's harvesting stuff really is always good fun calculating... Pay $540 for 100,000 QFF, a few days later a $100k tax refund

Why on earth would anyone pay that credit card surcharge lol    Perhaps for the additional tax deduction I guess ;)

Oh, and for the bonus round points ~$10,800 on discounted wish cards makes a big fat cost of zero

I have been paying ATO for October and November so unfortunately no refund for us unnamed. And of course I am still waiting for my thank you note from the fiscal fiend.
Instead I received a letter from them telling me to consider discussing investments with them before making a move.
I have managed to get my blood pressure back down since that letter with the help of my cardiologist and a new prescribed medication.
Poor old Mrscove did not get such a letter even though she has what I refer to as the bigger half.
I am resigned to points a 0.818 cents cost for Qantas directly(before any cost sharing with you know who) but it is so much easier than doing $10,000 a day on Qudos.

I received the email today inviting me to complete a survey, I also stuck the boots in... my main gripe is the increase in fee while reducing the benefits, sure cut the earn if you must but that new fee is a shocker.

x2

I'm hoping that someone is reading & taking notice.

So on 28/11/16 I decided to make one last payment to the ATO on this credit card.

Then on 30/11/16 I decided to pay a few bills early so that they would be excluded from the 01/12/2016 start of points capping.

Went online today to discover -

1. The ATO payment was dated 30/11/2016.

2. My other payments from 29/11/2016 were dated 01/12/2016 and payments 30/11/2016 were dated 02/12/2016.

So I'm pleased that the ATO payment made the deadline but sad that the other payments fell into Dec. I've never noticed this before but then again I haven't been watching that closely. Hopefully others have been able to get their points from Nov vs Dec.

Flying fox, I resisted the temptation to play the game after the 28th.... Glad your ATO payment cleared before doomsday, Fancy that, I'm in credit with the ATO...again

So it begins... churning season :)

Me to. Glad I'm not alone. I put commercial charges of $8,200 on the 29th and $8,100 on the 30th and both went on the card 1/12. 8,000 points down the drain.

I finished and paid Qudos early because we were flying on Nov 30th so all the points are now sitting with QF. Great result so I am glad we read that bank message that they sent us. I saw the delay on posting so I stopped on Nov 28th for both of our family cards. Have never had so many Qantas points in my account but I am trailing Mrscove by a lot.

Starting to get annoyed with the monthly points cap on this card now, seems I need another Visa / MC to share the load, with only full points earn on $2.5k card, and the new hefty annual fee means there is zero chance of keeping this card once my current year runs out.

If the fee was lower then it might change things a little.. I really don't want to use this card after I have hit the monthly cap, I do go over but not happy using it.

time to troll through the boards to find a couple of low cost cards, if I can get $2.5k per month on both cards at full earn, this would be an OK situation.

My current spend is now 70% Amex hence really need another option after Qudos

The game continues
