Questions re BA16

Just arrived at LHR FrustratedQP and can confirm that each of the two legs on BA16 provides the same service and products - navy cotton PJs, amenities bag, slippers, socks etc. Enjoy.

Hope you had one of those yummy bacon rolls with brown sauce.

I most certainly did amaroo. I'm not sure that it's legal to put that much bacon in a roll. Wouldn't happen on QF1...

For those of you who have done BA16 SYD-SIN with HLO, do they have an OLCI option for you to print BPs at T-24 and head straight to the F lounge?

Also had a look at this:
BA16 SYD-SIN-LHR - FT Dashboard

Shows that the upcoming flights in the next few weeks do not have an F service, however I looked on ba.com and you can most certainly buy F tickets?

Also how far out do BA release award seats? (in F) At the moment I can only see availability on AA at ~310 days out...

Those tables above are wrong. Just check EF and there is NF on 4/11/13 on BA16.

BA has never, I think, flown a 772 to SYD, only the 77W.

They used to take a 772ER years ago, before they swapped for a 744, and then eventually the 77W, after the BA/QF agreement was terminated. Ancient history anyway.

They do in F but not in J.

Can anybody tell me whether BA give out pj's in First Class on the Syd to Sin leg? (SWMBO likes them)

Also, does anybody have any recent experience in checking in for the BA16 flight, if so what was the earliest that you were able to check in? (was it BA or Qantas check in)

And you can check in online and head straight to the lounge earlier than 3 hours, presuming you only have hand luggage.

Awesome, thanks. Will be handy when I lose my WP (I know, how very un-AFF like of me)

Just booked a quick sortie to Singapore to celebrate our 20th Wedding anniversary - very much looking forward to another Bacon Roll and some new PJ's

Thank goodness BA still fly a First cabin to Asia!

I think you mean 'thank goodness BA still fly club+ cabin to asia' :P
I find the first seats very exposed and not very private on both 777 and 747

Bacon rolls are the best!

Congrats on your 20th -I feel sure all those trips in F have contributed to marital bliss :). We are celebrating our 33rd this year and will be in Africa for it.! We never celebrated wedding anniversaries until we got to 30, but had our 30th in Bora Bora, 31st in NewYork, 32nd in Hong Kong - just think how many more places you will have celebrated yours in if you make this an annual tradition!

Quintessentially British. The cabin is devoid of that dreadful gold and caramel colour scheme, comfortable with a touch of laid back style!

Beats the rubbish QF dish up to SIN, BKK, NRT and a few days a week HKG :(

I'll take BA NF on the 777 over QF A388 to SIN any day.

At least the BA crew know how to look after pax, don't call me "mate" and know how to make a decent pudding.

I far prefer Emirates F. Having now flown in BA F, Malaysian F and Emirates F, BA just doesn't even start to compare. Their food, service and most importantly the seats are just so inferior it isn't funny. Not even individual air controls and the seat is so small in comparison.

I admit I'm not influenced by colours being vision impaired, so can't compare that aspect though. I certainly won't be rushing back to BA though. Apart from their Concorde Room at Heathrow which was fantastic.

I believe the CCR to be overrated. The only thing impressive about it is the access policy.

I've flown QF, BA, EY and EK F and I only fly F internationally. I prefer the privacy of the suite doors of EY or EK, but for SIN it's BA.

Great example of how we all walk away with different views on similar experiences.

I've enjoyed all of my BA F flights - 7 so far......definitely not in the same league as QF F A380 hard product.

What I don't like about BA is their lousy lounges including the LHR CCR.....had a horrid experience in the CCR and will be disappointed if I ever walk back in there again.

For a QF award flight ex-SYD to SIN there is little doubt that a BA777 F cabin trumps anything else that QFF put on the table to select from.

But I did an EK flight in first class with my wife from SIN to MEL. It wasn't A380 but it was full suites with doors that closed etc. These were gained through a QF FF award, at the last moment admittedly. Very impressive hard and soft product.

Dale.
