Having sent my daughter to Shanghai from Sydney in business class
Ran out of choices available for breakfast and was offered only vegetable lasange.
Not offered a drink with the meal.
Ran out of snacks after 4hours into a 11 hour flight.
Service was certainly below par having flown first class on the A380 & 747 to Lax where service has always be A1, but this was certainly not the case on this flight where even flight attendants seemed less than helpful.

Have you complained online to the Qantas site? I certainly would be.

Does QF serve breakfast on QF129?

Yes it was the QF 129 last friday 22nd feb, maybe i should of sent her on china eastern could not of possibly been any worse??
I know Qantas are trying to cut corners but the to take the kerb and the footpath away as well. Could not believe there were no snacks available after 4hours who doing the catering these day or is it just another way to save money surely ther had to be snacks available in economy.

As nlagalle posts, you should definitely follow this up with QF. I fly this route five to six times a year, J and Y, and have never experienced this issue......but I have never seen breakfast served either.

I've flown PVG SYD in Y and J as well and never run out of food...! However, running out of choice especially if you are at the back of J happens. Recently on VN in J, 2nd row and run out of choices! No offense meant ripper, but this post is A typical of a Qantas Facebook beat up not an AFF post, and there's already a few things you have said that don't check all the boxes in my mind.

As suggested, complain to QF and I'm sure they will check their bill of loading and see the usual balance of J meals, drinks and snacks loaded on the A330, as well as the 400k of pot noodles for Y (they are pretty popular)

But when they check and find it wasn't loaded correctly, they may come back with a sorry letter, I just can't see one forthcoming.

Sorry to be so blunt.

I've never not been offered a drink with my meal on ANY Qantas service in ANY class.

[-]Wow![/-]Agreed!

In over 1000 Qantas flights, both domestic or international I can not remember NOT being offered a drink in conjunction with a meal service.

Could this mean they ran out of a snack choice after 4 hours? It seems cup noodles get taken quickly... I can't imagine they could run out of all snacks...

And as i pointed out in that thread - this experience of QF129 exactly mimics mine. The whole 129 flight was bad (chalk and cheese compared to the QF128 outbound which was fantastic). Maybe it's jet lag? Or maybe it's one set of crew the OP's daughter (and I) were bad enough to have.

Red Roo should be monitoring this thread. It would be good hear his perceptions on this and how this has been reported back to the relevant department.

I'm getting confused!

QF 129 SYD-PVG (outbound?) Lunch / Refreshment
QF 130 PVG-SYD (inbound?) Dinner / Refreshment

QF 127 SYD-HKG (outbound?) Lunch / Refreshment
QF 128 HKG-SYD (inbound?) Dinner / Refreshment

hahahah - Markis10, no I'm always well watered. Please read again. Sorry for the confusion but I repeat I have NEVER NOT BEEN OFFERED A DRINK (on QF)

Odd = outbound

Even= inbound.
