Recommendations for a good Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance?

Does anyone know of any Annual Multi-Trip policies that cover for holiday trips of up to 90 days? None that I've checked offer coverage for trips that long. We're planning a trip of around 80 days for 2016.

Refer to my post at #14 (page 1).

Just looked at the site now, taking a screen shot for annual option: 93 days.

I'm not with them, or anyone else, so couldn't answer any questions.

The TIDAustralia rep didn't come back with any suggestions for a 60 day policy :(.

Sorry Fifa, I'm still on my training wheels with this forum!

I've mentioned the max duration is up to 38 days for leisure or 90 days for business on the TID AMT policy. If you are combining business and leisure you can take a trip up to 90 days. However, if it's all just for fun then you can use your AMT up to the 37 days then take out a single trip policy from 38-60 days.

TID are currently working on a new PDS and we have amended the duration of the AMT. ETA TBC.

Ooh. Can you give me a heads up whether you might cover unguided off piste and backcountry in the new one, and I'll hold off buying from somewhere else!

I have to renew our Corporate Policy - only small company - currently with Chubb - any suggestions where else I might try?

Ama corporate were with Chubb and now going with some sort of combined policy. The company is either CGU, AIG or Dynamiq.

Now that sounds good. An insurance company listening to what the clients are saying? Hopefully. Have you thought about asking the AFFers what it is they want? I know some great comments have been made here about good points and bad points of various policies and it seems to me an insurance company with a good reputation (as I believe TID has) would clean up if they had a very tailored policy (even if via staged premiums).

So when I travel for pleasure with some mixed business (I always try to throw in a visit to a client so at least part of my trip is a tax deduction), even if only for one day, that's viewed by TID as a business trip and eligible for coverage up to 90 days? What if my family is traveling with me? Is everyone classed as "covered" for 90 days or just me?

Oh and thanks for the reply. A company rep who responds to questions (the difficult as well as the not so difficult) is very highly regarded here on AFF.

Thanks for the update.
I'm really not at all interested in adding a single trip policy for any trips over 37 days - too much hassle and expense.

Many of us are hoping for a 60 day annual multi-trip policy. I'll be waiting to check out TID's new PDS before renewing ;).

I agree swanning_it!

Our current policy covers you off-piste & cross country within resort/terrain park boundaries without a guide. Backcountry skiing and snowboarding and heli-skiing require a guide and that won't change in the new product.

Thanks TID. Unfortunately I need unguided back country, so will have to go for my corporate policy.

TIDAustralia, I think that you will find that's there's a lot of retired or semi-retired persons out there looking for AMT insurance that cover leisure trips for more than 60 days. if we are to enjoy our retirement, we like to to do it at our pace and savour the journey like a good red! For example, we might go over to the US of A, spend a few weeks around NYC then go up to New England for another few weeks then go down to Florida for another few weeks (incorporating a carribean cruise) and then to the West Coast and do the same. 90 days won't be enough!
if TID can come out with a good long leisure trip cover, I will be in for life!

We surveyed our AMT policy holders last year to get some ideas of what they were thinking, how they travel and what they do. We survey all customers regularly and act on feedback provided by our customers. As we are new to AFF we haven't really explored what options are available to us but you are a very lively bunch so it would be good to get your input.

Where you mix business and leisure on the one trip and you need to make a claim you will need to prove that the main purpose of the trip was for business ie, flights/travel arrangements paid by the business, business appointments, that type of thing. Your spouse/partner is covered while travelling with you or independently. Your dependent children are covered when they travel with either parent and are listed on the policy. Dependent children are not covered if they are travelling alone so they will need to have their own policy. When you and your spouse/partner are travelling together you are both still covered if you have to travel separately for part of the trip then you join up again at a later stage in your trip.

Our research indicated that there were a portion of AMT policy holders who are retirees taking longer trips. We looked at adding an option to increase days on an AMT but we are trying to strike the balance of providing great value without complicating the purchase of the policy. The AMT is designed for those taking lots of trips over a 12 month period in Australia and overseas so having a trip for longer than 90 days is not really an AMT policy trip anymore, it's a single trip.

Well, I do this around 3 times a year so, IMHO , I do consider it an AMT.
Cheers!

Would not consider changing a corporate policy away from Chubb, policy coverage is excellent as are claims. Also Chubb are very flexible with endorsements to meet specific requirements.
