As no one else has come forward at this stage I'm going to suggest we have the next event at

Dragon Boat Palace

149 Lonsdale St. Melbourne 3000

on Sunday February 23rd.

I have no idea whether it fits as a Qantas Restaurant but from my experience the food is much better (very subjective I know) than what we had at the January event.

The reviews vary from great to awful though we have always been well looked after. Monday to Saturday have fixed prices but Sunday does not.

Thoughts please :?:

I have a function during the middle of the day, but could make it if it was later in the day.

The day after the FT AGM could be problematic for some people.

Any thoughts on bamboo house in china town (spring st end)
This the second month of a monthly event. There are opportunities to try many places and for many to get involved in organising these as time goes on.

Knowing Melbourne we could probably have this at a different venue every month for several years.

If I may say so, Bamboo House (despite its very dated feel) does the best Peking duck around IMHO... however they don't do yum cha and they're not open for lunch on weekends.

This Date gets the thumbs up from me!

Put me down as Platinum if this is the date we decide on ( Sunday 23rd Feb).

Hopefully the more the merrier!

I am happy with this date too, not bothered with the place either; any location in or around the CBD will do - Platinum here.

The conversation on this get-together has gone quite peeps.

Who's pumped up & raring to go for yum cha ?

I am tentative only at this stage.

Will have to bow out - I have a old mate's 75th birthday lunch to attend.

Unfortunately I shall also be unavailable :( :(

OK not much action on this, so I'm trawling for any new possible starters.

Anyone else interested and available?
