Dang! I am working that day and away in Feb so I will have to wait until March to see if I can get along (lil' dawgy).

I completely missed this thread. Great idea.

Unfortunately I shall be in Singapore for the SIN do on this date in January, but will keep later events in mind.

Living in Hughesdale makes it difficult getting to preston if it was in Docklands you could count me as Platinum 1 lol

It's a little bit of a hike, yes! I know it's similarly a long way for serfty so perhaps we should investigate moving it more central (although I know serfty can't make it on this occasion).

As there are a few who have mentioned Preston is a tad far for them, would those who are WP for the event mind if I investigated CBD/Docklands options instead?

Works for me.

Doesn't bother me at all

OK so far no complaints. I'll give it a day or two and if no one complains, i'll change the venue (and have our 'Social Ambassador' update the attendance list and the location).

But, but, but...

Preston is just super for me. Never mind the fact that I can't make it until at least March. ;)

I don't plan on hogging all the Dimi points. I'll let other Melbourne-ites share ;)

I have no problem anywhere as I live next to the CBD and drive, so i'm quite happy to shuttle around on a Saturday or Sunday (but I have a small car so it's only 1 PAX, or a small/flexible person in the 'back seat' of my car) that I can give a lift to.

Regrettably , I am going to have to relegate myself to silver status for this event. ( Pretty lame excuse on my part- overbooked the weekend)..... I'll get back to you if in going up in the ranks so to speak.

But, not that I'm demanding that the day is changed but If anyone is free the Saturday night prior , maybe I suggest we have a warm up event if anyone is keen for a bevy or two.:)

CBD/Docklands is easier for me as I'll probably just get the SkyBus into the city for the day but Preston isn't a problem either.

I land 0835 and fly out at 1900 and don't have anything else planned for the day so no real time constraints :)

This sounds very tempting, and docklands would be much easier , though I am actually physically capable of driving to Preston (and parking would not be an issue there I assume)
I probably have Australian Open related activities on that date but would be interested in subsequent months.
Maybe we should have an Australia open meet up point inside the tennis ! (Sort of just kidding)

A great idea but I'm definitely Bronze for January.

There is also a very good Yum Cha in Lonsdale St in the city.

OK so we'll change the venue to Gold Leaf, Docklands as that seems to be better for others. I've not eaten there, but will assume it's as good as Preston.

samh004, could you please change the address as follows, and update the attendees up till this post (you're being slack ;)).

Level 1/10-11 Star Circus, Docklands VIC

There is tram access, or parking around the [-]waste-of-money-tourist-trap[/-] Southern Star Wheel too.

Final numbers required by this w/end please, and i'll make the booking :)
