Thanks mate.. aah yes the 1c/point.My 'calculator' is whether the nett cost per airline point is 1c/$ or less, since I tend to use points at 2c/$-plus (that's the only calculator I use) --- I also take into account interest I will earn on $ if I pay on credit card (rather than eft) into this calculation, as well as any bonus airline points earnt (eg, on sniip) - I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but it would be relatively easy to create a spreadsheet to work that out.
I use pay.com.au on the highest sub and never pay any extra for pay points. For my level of spend sniip and yakpay are more expensive even considering the monthly subQuestion re pay.com.au --- everytime I quickly 'do the sums', it doesn't seem to work-out to purchase payrewards points (eg, 1 reward point for 1% surcharge = 0.4 airline points?) as a viable option --- and so I end up just comparing it to other platform's base rates (eg, sniip), which is roughly similar - am I missing something about not using pay.com.au? (other than a quick way to boost your points balance if you need points urgently)
thanks georgie23 - I got a 30% bonus Qatar avios transfer offer in my email today, and thought (for at least the 3rd time), I'd have a closer look at pay and come to the exact conclusion you have.No I use snip and pay and yakpay and all are very similar in pure numbers
Pay has advantages of being able to buy more credits and transfer to more partners but if just using for the points on a credit card on initial purchase every similar - sniip probably very slightly ahead
thanks as always - I recall you're a 'power user' and figured on the premium subscription it's slightly ahead of sniip etc --- I'm confused how you don't pay extra for pay points (feel welcome to DM if preferred), as site says it's still eg, 1point/$ for payrewards?I use pay.com.au on the highest sub and never pay any extra for pay points. if i just pay the 1.9%+GST for amex on the highest plan, its 0 pay rewardsthanks as always - I recall you're a 'power user' and figured on the premium subscription it's slightly ahead of sniip etc --- I'm confused how you don't pay extra for pay points (feel welcome to DM if preferred), as site says it's still eg, 1point/$ for payrewards?
that's what I understood - thanks kind sir - so, extra pay rewards points are really only worth it, if you're trying to quickly boost your points balanceif i just pay the 1.9%+GST for amex on the highest plan, its 0 pay rewards
if I pay 1% extra then I'd get 1ppd of pay rewards
if i pay 1.8% extra then I'd get 2ppd pay rewards
