Rex launches its own frequent flyer program (in October 2023)

This airline is very basic in many things they do, product, IT platforms, second hand planes, basic lounges, marketing, among others

Don’t expect to be blown away here. I expect any partners to be underwhelming considering the major partners are tied to the other two.

There's certainly some movement afoot.

REX registered rexflyer.com.au on the 9th of August 2023. It is certainly theirs:

Registrant: REX AIRLINES PTY LTD Registrant ID: ABN 58642400048 Eligibility Type: Company >>> Last update of WHOIS database: 2023-09-16T14:31:42Z <<<

So I would say they are planning on showing something in the near future, I am not sure exactly what level of functionality it would have.

Leaving it a bit late in the day aren’t they for something so long in the planning.

Well, rexflyer.com.au ain't up and running yet, but there's another hour and a half to CoB

Perhaps they have cold feet with the soaring price of fuel, investing the funds into keeping the place afloat?

Well it is officially a bust for Rexflyer in Q1.

That's about the 3rd milestone missed now but hey, there are still 3 months left in 2023.

Want to know why the previous Rex frequent flyer program was terminated in 2010 or was it 2011?

High fuel prices and pilot shortages were blamed. So they have gone through an entire economic cycle, and 10 years later still find themselves in the exact same circumstances...... there are threads here with people speculating and Rex spokespeople talking about a renewed frequent flyer scheme in 2012.

I think we should be opening the betting on which decade will the new Rex Frequent flyer scheme commence.

Then you have this pearler. o_O
A 2020 presentation to investors and sighted by Executive Traveller listed the launch of the Rex Frequent Flyer program as a ‘strategic milestone’, with an eventual value between $1 billion and $1.6 billion “in 3-4 years” after capital city flights commence, at which point the airline predicts it will reach a total market capitalisation of $5 billion.
Rex and the word ‘billion’ should not be used together.

Welcome to the new RexFlyer.
If you write three published articles or letters to to the editor of a major masthead, praising Rex and blaming QF (for anything) you get a free flight in Y.

Looks like RexFlyer going with 'zero' outside partners from any company for the meantime.

Airline Interline partners such as Delta and Brunei will remain as interline partners for the foreseeable future (i.e can't redeem points on interline partners). Supposedly DL (and other 'potential' partners) are aimed to be linked "in 2024".
