Rockfords discussion

Will be interesting to see what I can taste, though I clearly won't be drinking any of these for a while....

The 2016 Rifle Range is definitely not brett affected. I opened a bottle last night and it was fantastic. Maybe wait for next year's 2016 release of BS and R&S.

I think I have a 2015 R&S at home, I can do a "test" tonight for brett. haha

Received our delivery yesterday but I'm still a few months off being able to drink anything.

Maybe wait for next year's 2016 release of BS
Do you mean Black Shiraz? - Next years BS will be the 2020

I had a 2016 blackshiraz on the weekend (and a ‘14 Joseph) and I don’t believe it was Bret effected- but maybe I’m not sensitive to it though.

I think it will actually be 2019??

It's disgorged around August each year, and the Stone Wall member mail out goes out around 1 October. It appears that the 2018 BS has already been released into Cellar Door, and 2015 BP will be released on 1 March.

Yes the current BS is 2018 (just received mine but was released late last year). The one being released later this year will be the 2019, next years release would be the 2020.

Nah, 2020..... :p
They are released on the year they are disgorged - I agree around 1st Oct to Stonewallers- then the BS is released around 1st December to non-stonewallers at the CD and to regular mailing list customers. This year’s will be 2019 - but the good dr’s post said “maybe wait for next year’s” so I still believe that next years release will be 2020 ;)

The 2018 BS disgorgement copped a very poor review on TWF and was given an 84 and 83 with descriptors like dirty, horsey, stale and salty. :(

Yeah - I am not too sure about the 2018, but I have some, so may need to try it out... purely to assist AFF members.

Maybe we should organise a dinner

1550535822137757541237.jpg Unfortunately this 09 Moppa was catalogued incorrectly as a BP. Whilst drinkable, it was certainly way past its best.
On another note, for those interested I have organised a tour to Rockford and Elderton. If you're interested head over to the social threads or message me for more information.

I would have expected that to still be very drinkable at ten years of age. Storage or cork issue perhaps?

I was going to say the same; we've drunk Moppa older than that and it has been beautiful.

The cork was perfect so I'd take a bet it didn't like the storage conditions. Given that I don't necessarily have perfect conditions, as a rule I usually don't keep wine for more than 8 years.

BP was released yesterday (well to non-stonewallers like me), trying to find any reviews - first year I’m being allowed to buy via mail order, previous years have all been via CD

The wine front review is pretty damming :(
