Rockfords discussion

I’ve only opened 1 of mine - it was not effected. I’ve given one away as a gift and advised the recipient to let me know if there are any issues

@Buzzard, this is the earlier chat about the issues with the 375ml bottles. Hard to know what is the appropriate thing todo, if it's random bad ones adn you're only opening it 5 years + down the track, would they still honour the refund policy.
They also said I could do it 5 years down the track but decided it was all too hard. The two people I spoke to were both very knowledgeable and extremely polite and helpful

For those interested, the White Frontignac is now available to order online.

I'm also attending a Stonewall lunch in early January (11th) if anyone else is, but have exhausted my spots for my first foray haha – everyone wants to be my friend!

On Friday 29th July, @RooFlyer and I are hosting a Rockford Stone Wall lunch and we have a place or two available at our table.

If you would like to join us and a few like minded AFFers for this event and are prepared to commit (ie make payment) send me a PM including your email address and I shall get back to you promptly.
The cost of the lunch including transport Adelaide - Barossa return is $263.75.

This is not an official AFF social event and it is on a first in best dressed basis.

If you have any questions, best ask via PM as I don't want to clog up this thread with a private event.

Unfortunately the timing doesn’t work for me! 😢

Disclaimer: The 'Buzz quiz on the bus' has nothing to do with me! (because I want to be in the running for the prizes  )

Sometimes Stone Wallers on the visit share their Stone Waller allocations around. :).

Hmm I need to come to Adelaide in late July (not yet booked) but already will have a full day…damn 😫

For mine, any vintage in the even years after (and including) 2010 are standouts. The BP 2010 that I drank with @penegal (and somebody else, their name escapes me for the moment) at the Hilton Adelaide is up there in my best 5 bottles I've ever drunk.
Take out a subscription to James Halliday/Wine Companion?

The quote for the 2014 vintage suggests it's up there!

Best rated by who? This question is a bit like asking who is the best rated football team.

Can you provide more context to your question?
Sorry, I don't mean highest JH rating.

I just meant overall generally speaking some vintages are known to be amazing, higher value vintages.

I only ask because a family friend who is a long time member has been buying BP for an extremely long time is swapping some wines with me and said I could have any vintage I want.

:) Appreciate any feedback

You remind me of another user who often made strange remarks about wine. Do you happen to know @Mynameismynameis?
