Roomba, Dysons, Thermomix and other household appliances

When you turn on an 3200w element it uses the same power no mater when it was designed.
A modern, more efficient appliance is likely to get up to a set temperature quicker, so while the power consumption will be same, the duration of that power consumption (i.e. energy consumed) will be less. A modern oven might have a 3200W element, but it is not always operating at its full 3200W capacity. Newer, more efficient technology might only require 1200W vs say 1800W for a 1960's design element to maintain the set temperature once it gets to the set point.

And of course technologies like fan-forced oven or steam oven can generally operate at a lower set temperature to achieve the same (or even better) cooking result due to more even temperature coverage.

So there can be a difference in operating cost between old and new appliances.

More rangehood
Now more sink

(while not an appliance per se).

Have come across these "Workstation sinks"
There are others - Winnings sells them

A sink which is 1700mm by 400mm. (6 feet long)
My counterspace length would not fit the one larger which is 7 feet long but will fit the 6feet long one 🤣
My kinda sink.....

im also sold on the triple tier surfaces that can slide across. And top tier can completely cover the sink to hide the mess when important people suddenly come over.. Didn't know sinks could be so high tech
Yes, some nice features. But how long does it take to fill the bath sink and how much water does it use! And one really dirty pan/pot and the water needs changing. I think I would prefer 2 smaller sinks of different sizes. One bigger one for large items and a smaller one for water volume considerations.

Electrolux make good fridges. I have an Electrolux the rental in Wagga but its a standard 2 door.

French door fridges use more power.
Not in the integrated range. Although, I'm not sure I've ever seen a good integrated fridge? They all seem to end up with moisture along the length of the back of the fridge internally, and the freezer....... ices up a lot too. Best thing we did was rip out the integrated F/F (and the cupboards built around it) and put our Bosch F/F back in place.

That is an option

No its a colander 🤣

AIve never had integrated fridge and overall Im not keen in the integrated look.. Ive always thought that ventilation is a good idea.
I can show before and after photos if anyone is interested. I think it looks better now, anyway! Also not a massive fan, but it's very ....... European.

Our sink is 800mm but I rarely wash by hand anymore so this is for a pre scrub for bigger items. We have standard sink in butlers.

Island is 3mtrs long

We rarely wash in Sinks either but find that it's best to do an occasionall rinse of soapy water down the drain to make sure it stays wet and odour free.

The tap we have in the large sink is also filtered water so it'll be used regularly plus hubby makes a smoothie every morning so Im guessing he'll wash it in this one... because he can
