If given the choice between Dyson upright, barrel or cordless?

Too much Dust = Too Fastidious?:p

My partner has a Dyson upright at her place and I'm shocked at how annoying I find the cord to be when I fulfil my cleaning duties. A FWP for sure - it's surprisingly easy to get used to a no-cord life!

Not sure how much experience you have with the V9/V10s but their suction power is just incredible. The only real downside I can think of (other than price) is the battery life - though after 20min you probably want to take a break anyway.

I think if you regularly vacuum, the cordless stick is good and I look forward to having one, one day (and having a robot vacuum as well).

But me. Yeah, nah. Im a lazy once a month vacuum person (no pets) so I like the bigger machine with cord but Dyson is going cordless I believe.

Upright plus: Feels like its doing a better job but in reality, its doing the same job. I just prefer to use it on my carpets/dust.
Upright con: It is heavy, especially if you have stairs. If you dont click it correctly, it wont stand up but once you know what to do, its easy. Because its upright, you need the right space to store it.

Barrel plus: Easy to move around and easy to store in smaller space.
Barrel con: None, happily use it.

Or... buy one of the above now and buy a cordless stick later on :)

Edit: Our plan for the future is 1 machine upstairs (with robot), one downstairs and cordless stick in the kitchen.

Yes Dyson has gone cordless I believe. I couldn’t leave our carpets a month without cleaning now but I had to in the past. Cordless has been a wonderful help for me and would never go back to the awful cord machine again.

Hubby now vacuums every Friday, hes been using the barrel but I think its because he doesnt know where the upright is kept.

What’s good for non carpet floor

I like the idea of bagels. Cos everyone hates emptying the bag and leaves it for the next person.

Edit bagels = bagless.

Autocorrect rules again! I’m so glad it’s not just me who types random words.

I had a chuckle and was thinking that quickstatus was peeved about all the crumbs left from eating all the bagels and leaving the bag for them to clean up.

The only annoying thing I find with my Dyson Animal is getting the barrel off to empty it - everyone else seems to do it in one click but sometimes it takes me a few minutes of cursing

Edit - would never go back to corded vacuum.

Yes, I only ever undo the bottom plate and let it fall out. Stuck bits I use a dull scraper to drag it from the top. It takes me forever to get the barrel back in so it stays in now.

@Buzzard , could you please elaborate on why better than Dysons.

Thanks in advance
The suction is really good, the cord is really long, it is more versatile in that you can remove the power unit and use it for stairs or to vacuum the car, it drives itself so you just steer it, it's light, it's easy to service (remove rollers), it has a long wand which is useful if you need to clean a cobweb off a ceiling. I just this week vacuumed my daughters house with her Dyson cordless stick. I don't know the model but I thought it was poor.

and I've ordered a pie maker so will need to start checking out recipes for them
I usually only use left overs for filling but love how easy it is to use!

Dont forget to get your puff and shortcrust pastry sheets. I store mine in the freezer in the Decor storage boxes but ive seen people store theres in large ziplock bags, Decor Tellfresh Pastry Storer 2.5 L

Only annoying thing is that the pie size is considered large so you get 4 x tops on one puff pastry sheet but the bottom shortcrust, I usually only manage 2 x per sheet, using some of the left over shortcrust to fill in the gaps. Its not a deal breaker as I love the Sunbeam pie maker but letting you know so dont throw out the off cuts until youve finished pies.

Otherwise, 12mins in the pie maker, 10mins to cool and its awesome!

Facebook has some pie groups, Im a member of the Sunbeam Pie Maker Group

I know it sounds silly but I'm hoping I can use something other than pastry but thanks for all the tips

Lots of options. I've seen people use wontons, Mountain bread, tortillas. A FB group is good for ideas

You can use dough, make a kinda calzone. I've seen cheese and Vegemite rolls as well
